I’m color-deficient so muted colors like this just don’t register to me unless someone definitively points it out to me. Looks like I’ll sit this one out lol

Looks great! It's a relief to have a figure that actually looks like Viggo. I can definitely see the quality dip from the prototype, but I'm still impressed. As others have said, it'll look better under different lighting conditions.

When you consider that this was once sold…

InArt will get no complaint from me.

The color timing and desaturation of the movies make it very hard to tell what color the vambraces are while Aragorn wears them.

But I've gotten used to the toys, I guess. I like the red.

In any case, they look too dark in that video. Might be the lighting hiding any slight hint of brown/red.
It depends if you want prop accuracy or screen accuracy with the colour grading and post processing effects etc.

I hate that the durasteel Mando is brown (which is accurate to the costume), when he looks almost red in the show.

This one might be the classic expectations vs reality case. I'm sure if I didn't see the prototype, this would have amazed me, but now it seems like it isn't enough when you compare the two side by side.
Big chunk of it will be this unfortunately for some folks. Said it months ago that this figure is so insanely hyped that no matter what they release will be met with some level of disappointment.

People were even disappointed in seeing photos of the prototype at the conventions they showed it off in, when it’s the same prototype that’s been praised from the start.

People were convinced that something changed in the sculpt when it hasn’t.

Yes the colour grading is frustrating (especially as the Elven cloaks are 100% grey in real life, not green as per every 1/6th version sans ACI...) but the under layer of the vambraces is definitely terracotta red in the movies. Just watched TTT and you see them in broad daylight alot.

Fun little image of Viggo's broken toe after that scene!

I am honestly very impressed with this. No company can make a prototype 1:1 to final that’s just the reality. But the quality in the final looks a 10/10 for me. I made this for the people on fb complaining that it looks worse than the prototype.

Lighting plays a huge role on these two photos, but the sculpt looks overall the same. Plus the rooted hair looks flat which is a great sign.

Maybe it's the light or the paint or whatever, but is his nose wider? Because it sort of looks like the middle of his nose is wider now. Plus it also looks like his chin is wider as well. I hope it's just the light playing tricks or something. Either way, I really hope we get some new pics soon.
