Awesome to see Billy, Taggart, and Serge all back. Can't wait for it.

Yeeeaaaaahhhhh I’m not convinced

Looks fun to me! One of my all time favorite characters. Good to see Taggart and Rosewood back as well.

The only thing that gives me a pause is that it seems mostly a rehash of the plot of first movie but with some new settings, a few new characters and a helicopter. But, if the jokes are good and the movie's fun, I'll be happy to have something new.

It’s a Netflix movie and they are mostly trash

I only love the first BHC because it’s got a sense of realism (well … mostly) compared to the others. No helicopters flying down the street sort of thing, no glossy music video look and most importantly, no George Lucas cameo!!

So what did we think of this?

For me, not Top Gun Maverick but good enough. Great seeing everyone again and great to hear the signature music.

I'll go 7/10.

Thanks to reviews here & elsewhere, I went from "No way I'm watching that after #3" to "OK - I'll give it a go".

I REALLY enjoyed it - nothing mind-blowingly original, but it delivered what I want from a movie like this.

Script was fun (if predictable), acting was fine, and everything else hung together quite nicely. Also set things up with new characters (on and off screen) that will allow a nice flow into yet another one after this.

Let's put it this way - I'll CERTAINLY be watching it again at some point!

It was okay. Some things were great, some things really weren't. Cast was decent. Some real nice classy throwbacks. Just needed to be a bit more daring and not run of the mill. Nice to have a good post 80s BHC movie.

I’m just glad there was nothing cringe inducing in it like the last one. The biggest problem it has it’s very generic and like every other film made now. It looks like a lot of money was poured into it but that isn’t what made the first one so great. And to be honest it really wasn’t that funny. But it could have been so much worse so I guess we should be thankful.

I thought it was fun. It was great to see Taggert, Rosewood and Serge again. Jane and Abbott were also great additions. Murphy slipped back into the role of Axel with ease.

I grew up watching the first films and found this to be a great follow on to the series.

The other thing that struck me is that in Australia this film got an MA rating. What the hell? All of the other BHC films are rated M. What is in this film that is sooo much worse than others? I don’t understand. Did they go over the 99 uses of the F word and it automatically got a higher rating. Stupid classification system.

Violence and language. The classifications are more stringent now than they were 30+ years ago.

Is that just in Australia? A lot of the movies from the 80s and 90s here in the UK have been given lower age classifications than they used to have.

I don't think older films have been reclassified, they're just classifying newer films with a higher rating with similar themes of older movies. With Beverly Hills Cop Axel F, they have rated violence and language under high impact, which gives it an MA15+ rating. The previous films only rated violence and language as moderate impact.

I don't believe the older Beverly Hills Cop movies have been reclassified to a lower age here.

Ah okay. Yeah I'm pretty sure the BHC movies are the same here, they've always been 15.
Things like The Terminator and Die Hard used to be 18 but they've been bumped down to 15.

My wife and I really enjoyed this! She's seen the original once or twice, I've seen it about 50 times, so it was a nice contrast of expectations going in. I've gotta watch #3 again sometime as I honestly don't remember what made it so bad. I'm sure I'll regret that decision

I think it was good I liked it.
This does the same thing as similar late sequels like this, that seemingly nothing happened with the characters in the last 30-40 years. Axel is wearing the same clothing, he has the same Chevy Nova, he is seemingly lives in the same apartman. It has the same beat, modernised, but the same music and locations that you are remember. And the estranged father thing is predictable so they can pull your heart strings at the end and you know that they are reuniting again.
I liked this more than the third one.
I think it was worth it to see, it's not as rewatchable as the first two, but I am going to watch it again.
