Is that the old SS Invisible man figure? It still holds up pretty good. Great movie!
Yes. Or at least I suppose...
I asked a question just before posting the photo. I just bought this Invisible man, with the old SS box and all. But I don't have the hollow head. I didn't know there were 2 versions.
Or maybe I bought a bootleg 😅

The movie is one of my favorite Universal monsters movie, with THE MUMMY and THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. And the CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON.
The others are good of course, but not my favs.

Fully agree - Bride, Mummy and Invisible Man are my favourite Classic Universal Monster movies

Also, I changed the pants of this Sideshow invisible man.
Because in the movie he has pants of a lighter color than his jacket

The Sideshow Invisible man really holds up. Because there is no headsculp of any actor. Even if Kaustic make one, it would have to be loaded with accessories to justify the price. Alternate heads for different looks, different outfits, a partially invisible head, something like that.

The head sculpt might be a recast.

Does the body look like this?

Maybe it was the exclusive version that had the hollow head?

This guys review has the same solid head version as yours.

ah yes !
I guess this is it.
Weird because I never heard about this. A lot of people (including MWCTOYS) just mention the fact that the exclusive has a roll of gauze.
Well...it seams it also had a hollow head !^^

It doesn't bother me, I wasn't planning on displaying him without his head but still...I would have like to know it.
Maybe Dr. Anton Phibes knew about it. He seems to have the Sideshow collection.

EDIT : Funny, the guy in this review says that he would have like if the head was hollow 😅 Another one that didn't know...

Somebody here is familiar with the old Sideshow Universal figures ?

What do you know about the invisible man figure ?
I'm asking because I saw a version with a hollow head that can be separated in two pieces. Basically the version reviewed here :
http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_051605a.htm
And there is this one with a non-hollow head
What is this ? Is it a bootleg ? Or another non-premium version ?

There were two versions released. A sideshow exclusive version that had the head that could separate and a standard edition with a solid head. Looks like you have a standard version. I don’t believe there have been any bootlegs of the old Sideshow monsters.

I might also change the coat of this figure. The Sideshow coat is nice but not really accurate. It has a HUGE collar.

I can probably find a more accurate coat somewhere.

Finally pulled the trigger on Bela Lugosi Dracula, the deluxe version with the coffin is currently the same price as the standard on Popcultcha's website and the site has a 20% off all items promotion with the code WINTER
Compared to buying it from Kaustic Plastic themselves directly I've saved, including shipping, about 100GBP/130USD

So...I don't think we will see another Ardeth Bey figure anytime soon. The human version of the mummy is not how most people want to represent the character in their collection.
But personaly I like it.
Do you know if the old Sideshow version still holds up ? I'm not sure if it's worth it for me to hunt it down. It seems decent in this video.

But I saw really bad photos too. Were there big paint differences depending on the copies ? Do I have to ask for photos if I found one ?

I was trying to track one of these down myself but the prices are crazy high. The sculpt has a terrific likeness to Karloff but would definitely benefit with a repaint.

I was hoping that KP might have teased a Mummy/Ardeth Bey double set, akin to the new Dracula/Van Helsing release.

I tried messaging them through the my orders page, but whenever I click the details buttong to do that it just shoots me back to their homepage.
