InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

Looking back on this chart, we really did something great as a community.

We compiled all of these notes into a concise format, with a clear visual presentation, and passed it on to Inart with ample time for implementation.

A lot of these points are simple adjustments, but the sum of them together makes quite a big difference. And there's no doubt as we can see, that this difference is for the better.

My excitement would shoot up to 11 if only 2/3 of these points are addressed.

Sadly, we're about to see just how full of **** Inart's mission statement really is..

Dang, I really wanted a screen accurate BvS Superman. I already have a brighter colored suit version with the Hot Toys JL Supes. I love the bright blue version as a projection of where his arc would have ended. But for a BvS figure I like the darker blue suit. Appropriately imho since BvS is a pretty dark story.

Just so everyone’s clear; the image on the right is not an updated revision of the figure by InArt.

It’s edited by @potatocorner4life as reference for InArt to make suggested improvements.

As far as we know, we’re still getting the figure as it appeared in solicitation photos.

I prefer figures being based on what we see on screen, in the movies. There’s a reason they color grade and edit.

Actual suit accuracy > movie.

Movie colors change from scene to scene, it's impossible to say what is accurate because they can just adjust it willy nilly. Give me the actual physical suit colors.

Likewise. Would hate them to make the suit to dull. It's perfect as is.

A few tweaks, especially to the legs would be nice but already the proportions blow the HT figures away.

The Cavill sculpt is easily their most impressive to date, on the DC side that is. Don't follow any of their other figures.

The blue I edited a while back was majority of the forums’ decision back then. I understand how people can prefer BTS suit footage or with a darker film grading color. I don’t personally mind either.

The biggest change I want is the legs, and the wider neck which would make the figure more statue like.

So only the angry sculpt has that curl of rooted hair?

If yes, that’s great news.

EDIT: I just went back in the thread and thankfully I misremembered both sculpts having the curl. I hated it when they revealed that and I still hate it. The prototype of the angry sculpt looked much better.

I agree. I don't want a behind-the-scenes/Henry walking to the set 1/6 scale figure. I want it to be a general image of what is seen in the movie. Sure brighter blue is nicer to look at but I can get a nice blue mug or curtains.

Which 1/6 version of Zod do you want lol

Personally I prefer actual suit colors over screen accurate/Snyderized. While I absolutely love the film I think Hot Toys figure looks too dark and doesn’t look as impressive on display.

Yes they do look like a good middle of the road colour for all to be happy with (well most without on screen filter OCD)

The issue with matching the "film look" is that there is no definitive color to match. This is the issue with tons of Hot Toys movie figures; they are given reference from the studios that are of the actual suits and props, not the color graded film version.
And those color graded shots are never going to be 100% consistent in the movie itself. They are going to look darker in some scenes, and brighter in others. The director may even choose to alter the hue, value or saturation in a certain scene for dramatic effect.

This is coming from a graphic designer and photographer who works at a studio that does a ton of video production work.

Also don't forget that the license holder has to sign off on these and most likely may dictate a specific red or blue.

Q3 apparently, but I think in that Inart stream, they said later this year.
