InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

So the argumemt I'm hearing is.. because there may be slight variance throughout the film, it's better to choose the prop colors that don't match any scene in the film?

I'll just adjust my TV color to match it. There. Happy?

The point is that it's still accurate in terms of color.

No, what I am saying is that Warner Bros is most likely dictating the color based off of the actual prop suit. Superman is part of DC/Warner Bros brand, an they are incredibly protective of that stuff.
The colors of Superman's suit in marketing and branding is a specific set color that every licenser has to abide by. There are incredibly strict rules about this stuff. Same for Marvel and Spider-Man. They are militantly protective of this stuff.

If WB are so picky on colour, why is the HT BvS Superman so dark compared to this?

Why does it vary so much in the merchandise then?

I started writing mine, finished my online game and then posted. I didn't intend to repeat pretty much what you said.

As is, it’s really not that accurate in color. I also don’t understand why people think the darker blue is “dull.” It’s not, erm, I mean it shouldn’t be. It’s like a deep dark royal blue, it’s not just flat navy blue. That’d be “dull” but that’s not the case here.

Imo, screen accuracy should always prevail as that’s what we see while we watch the films and imo, I’d rather have something match/closer to what I see on screen.

I pestered them as well on their FB pages (YouTubers even blocked me for “ruining” the current prototype figure for them lmao), so I hope they have implemented these optimizations we’ve all asked for.

It most likely depends on the media that the merchandise is base on. Every lunchbox, or tshirt with the comic book Superman should have the exact same shade of red and blue.
Every piece of My Adventures with Superman should have the same red and blue. But that red and blue might be slightly different from the comic colors. Same for the movies. WB had to approve that stuff, and they have literal books and style guides that list those colors and the rules surrounding them.

Of course, there may be some slight color variation, dependent on a shity print facility or job.

The two things I’m expecting to be fixed are the placement of the glyphs on his arms and the piping direction on his sides. Both are blatantly wrong and not accurate to anything (prop suit/screen suit). Hell, even Hot Toys got those details right.

Think I'd cancel.

Can always cancel and wait for the 2.0 Hot Toys is working on to combat this.

As usual, the best version will probably come from mixing the two together.

Can't see Hot Toys doing much better to be honest. They had plenty of chances to get it right. I'd probably hold off from giving them my money out of sheer principle.

If they actually fix the proportions like that edit I'll be happy regardless if it matches the prop or the screen.

They can have their pick. As long as I see an indication that they tried, I'll be content with it.

Fixing the proportions would be a dream. Headsculpt wise HT has no chance it’s pretty much a 9/10 likeness. It is also easier to bulk up a figure than slim it down so inart is looking good. Only thing would be to remove the body suit without damaging it, hopefully it wouldn’t be difficult.

Concerned the suit will end up looking dull. I don't think Inart will beat this...

I don't see why they can't though, given the fabulous work we've seen from customizers. I really don't like the stock Hot Toys figure, but they definitely did some things better.

Isn't that too bright and blue? I don't like the airbrushing, makes his muscles look painted on rather than sculpted muscle underneath the suit, so Inart looks better to me.

I agree. While I’m not the biggest fan of InArt in general, theirs is definitely superior. And when the light is on it properly, it shines how it’s supposed to.

The airbrushing on top of the suit that a lot of these custom artists do is just plain wrong and inaccurate.

I do, however, wonder what the HT 2.0 will look like
