Phoenix is talented, though quirky isn’t
the adjective I’d place on his personality.

To me, he’s become a pretentious woke Hollywood snob. Seems like an fine fellow that isn’t anywhere near cool enough to play the role of leading Hollywood A list actor that’s a nightmare to work with but oozes such charisma that their presence is undeniable.
Phoenix woke? Maybe.

He was signed up for the "Broke Back Mountain" type film. Of which, I'm comfortable with. It didn't step on my favorite fandoms. And I'd never watch it.

Go right ahead. More power to ya.

There should be a genre of "woke" as long as they make THEIR OWN STUFF. Not turn our stuffs into it.

I'd be completely fine with that..

I don’t mean woke as in starring in a gay film.

I mean woke by his entire demeanor,
his Oscar speech.

Everything about him screams I’m better than you, rules for the, not for me.

Oh. He's been known for being anti-Hollywod.

He hates the industry and in the past, he's blatenly shown his contempt for it.

But that time has come and past, that shtick ain't working no more in 2024. He hated Hollywood when it wasn't cool to hate Hollywood.

Now the rest of the world has caught up with him. It's time he shows some class, imo.

The moody, "idfc" persona ain't gonna fly no more, regardless of his stance.

He'll figure it out. Or he won't. But he'll always be Johnny Cash to me.

That role for him was equal to Ledgers Joker.

Ah ha, so that's the appeal.
His best act, sure.

He has more under his belt that came long before that film tho.

7mm
Gladiator

That maybe it?

Edit;

I'm sorry, are we actually debating if he's a GOAT amongst actors spanning 30 yrs?

Is that what we're doing?

Are we saying he's trash because of Joker 2?

This right here. This joker has dropped from iconic symbol of sticking it to the system and letting out your inner most desires to a loser who gets humiliated and beaten. Great job DC.

And here I thought this and Harley were gonna be the Halloween costume of the year this year lol
it can still be a couple's costume

We all remeber his brother from Stand By Me

(RIP)
Yeah too bad he didn’t turn out like him.

If Phoenix truly hated Hollywood,
he would’ve left the scene for good the moment he held his dying brother in his arms, regardless of his weirdo family pushing them into acting or his brother telling him he’d be big one day.

You don’t recover from something like that,
so to continue to be amongst those circles, has to be some kind of indicator.

Also back in the 1990s,
it was absolutely the cool thing
to hate Hollywood.

All of the young top actors at the time didn’t respect the job, couldn’t care less about attending premieres, promoting their films in the press, half of them couldn’t stay sober long enough to shoot a scene.

It wasn’t about the work at all,
it was about their personal lives and how much attention could they fetch the tabloids.

They liked the Hollywood party scene,
the access to people and resources.

This is what made Depp continue to focus on playing the guitar, he observed the fraudulent nature of it all, so he didn’t respect the craft, the fact that it was his job.
He noticed quickly on that Hollywood wasn’t meant to be art, but a business.

Until he met Marlon Brando.

Also, Zach Snyder’s Joker shouldn’t
exist if his Batman is willing to murder.

Keaton’s Batman killed Jack’s Joker.

No it wasn't. You've already told us you're 25.

Nick, you don't know a gd thing about the 90s.

It’s certainly not cool to hate Hollywood now.

The entire youth wants to be famous,
they don’t care what for, just make me famous.
Back then, they were doing everything in their power to get pulled out of projects.

That's a generational issue. Gen Z exists.

This is their world. Mines come and gone.

Conspiracy!

I too, believe the moon landing was fake.

Seriously not sure if I'm serious about that.

Seriously. But not..🤔
