The hours it took for this to sell out and the 500 limit has me worried about the Jabbas palace figures. I really want skiff guards. Sideshow might not produce them if these are not selling.
Of course, they would never take into account their quality control history and insane price gouging on bare bones figures. Hot toy’s prices for sideshow figures doesn’t fly when ht has approximately 752,578,085 figures set to release in 2025.
The release of dr evazan will be telling. If he has a 500 limit then we know this line was a bust sales wise.

Labria seems to have been intended as a limited release exclusive for awhile now though. His “coming soon” pic has had the little “EX” indicator since it was first on the site if memory serves. Evazan does not. He will be available on the site AND to all wholesale accounts for ordering. I highly doubt they will switch Evazan to a limited release now.

Of the 5 Mos Eisley releases, Labria is definitely the bottom of the batch when it comes to character popularity. I am not surprised they only made a limited number of him to generate hype. No way would he have sold the same numbers as any of the others.

Did the Sideshow people mention when Evazan goes up for preorder, or was it just Labria's PO date?

I'm not crazy about the Evazan sculpt but it at least it has a human-like head paint app (harder to achieve realistically over just an alien paint app) to make the $275 price seem slightly less nuts.

I'm most tempted to grab Evazan versus Labria and Garindan as he's a pretty iconic pairing with Walrusman. And to be honest I've never really seen a great custom Evazan, proving he's quite tricky to capture.

Why do you think they decided to limit just this one? I saw someone on social media was demanding their NRDs back on the other three since he missed out on this. Do you think they’re kicking themselves for not doing 750-1000 instead?
Of the 5 they revealed, I think it is fair to assume this is the least popular one. Makes sense to limit it.

Oh, OK, that makes more sense. Still, 24 hours to sell 500 pieces... not like the good ol' days.
Nope. I remember the premium format releases that if you weren't logged in and hitting refresh in the first few minutes it went up, you didn't get one. There are so many more choices now and the price is playing a major factor as well...

Yep, price more than anything else I’d say. At the $50 the Sideshow line started at over 20 years ago (ouch, that just made me feel old) these would have been decent sellers. At $275 not so much.

It was less than 24 hours. And to be fair, Sideshow didn’t announce the preorder time or that it was going to be limited beforehand. They just quietly put it up and that’s when we found out there were only 500. I’ve seen a few people upset they missed it because there was no announcement prior.

I think it was announced in the SSC Spook Youtube video.

Yeah, but most people don’t watch those. I know I don’t. I just got an alert because I had RSVP’ed.

Just saying it might have been different if they posted on their social media sites that it was going up at a certain time and limited to 500 beforehand.

Oh, was it? OK, how many hours was it specifically then?
No clue. I just know it was waitlisted the next morning so less than 19 hours is the best I can give you.

The "next morning" you refer to was the morning of Oct 30th?

You know it was up for PO at around 11pm the night of Oct 28th, right?

It went up for order Monday around noon and was waitlisted when I got up Tuesday morning around 7 a.m.

You can just go back and check the times of the posts in here.

I really never get a clear idea on how many of a particular figure is made, so hard to judge the 500 vs sell out time.

Like how many units did Hot Toys make of a fig like the new Luke Bespin, vs figures like the recent black/claws C-3PO (can't think of droid name)? Like would they have made 2,500 of that black C-3PO, or more like 500 due to its somewhat limited appeal?

Sideshow used to mention the edition size all the time back in the day but now I never see it mentioned in 1/6 at all.

This has just appeared for pre order on KG Hobby, so does this mean they're more than 500? Or is that for just the US/European Market?

I've been told that there's alway more produced than quoted, and that the factory sell the excess directly to stores.

However, KGH's system allowed me to add 88 units which is much higher than the expected over production they'd be likely to permit to one store.

Thanks for that info. I missed the preorder on Sideshow so was glad to get him from KG.
I second this sentiment, thank you for the heads up. I missed the preorder window as well. Read through this forum and it ended up making me chuckle to see it did in fact sell out. Then I remembered I missed the window and was sad again. Lol
