The reason why I compare to HT artisan is because that’s how Joost markets this figure. I see where you’re coming from that it’s closer to a standard non artisan HT, but in some ways it’s not. The styling may not be as complicated but there’s still some styling involved to make it look good.

The Jack Sparrow is not a good example to use because that is very good value and not the norm for standard HT. If instead I compared with DP&W Wolverine Deluxe or Batman Returns Deluxe 2.0 - both ($275) that’d be more fair, +$100 for what HT normally charges for Artisan edition, and then you might justify an increased cost due to the complexity - custom body, wool hair, detailed suit, and you’ll arrive at a price they charged which might be fair-good value.

If someone says it’s overpriced then I’m not saying it might not be, just to me I see the value lining up with its price when comparing to HT.

The HT Lady Deadpool with wool hair is $280

Are you buying legit Mars Toys stuff on aliexpress?
Yep.
Ali Express is actually very reliable and has really favorable customer service.

There's a crap ton of that Chinese knock-off type stuff and cheap, low quality items on there but stores are- in my experience- very upfront about exactly what they're selling.

Plus, Mars Toys is already a third party company making unlicensed products on the cheap. If anything, they're right at home on AE.

Not up to Joost. Kit runs his business separately.

Having said that, I’m pretty sure that date does not affect whatever preorder cutoff Jazzinc will have for their site.

I just checked the Jazzinc site. Joost hasn’t set a preorder cutoff date for these figures as far as I can see. It’s in his best interests to keep the window open for as long as possible, up to full production.

Kit sometimes has figures where the cut off date already passed but the item can still be preordered

I honestly kind of hope they extend it past the 17th. I’m hemming and hawing and debating if I want to bite on one of the deluxe sets, but there’s just too much **** right now. Between other POs and the holidays, I’m like “man, another one?” And that price is tough to swallow. Like, when you get the math mathing, this figure is more expensive than even an InArt release. I know you’re getting three full heads and the like, but…jinkies…

My biggest question is if this is going to be the standard going forward or if figures like Catwoman here are the exception and not the rule. Like, if they did Gordon from The Batman, is he going to be $500 or are there going to be tiers depending on the character?

I'm pretty sure Joost said orders will be open till Dec. At least from what i can recall.

More and more I'm thinking I might just stick with the clean deluxe. The $1160 2-pack was always out of the question, and don't think I can justify $400 for a barebones battle-damaged figure with one sculpt.
The 2-pack is crazy for 1k+, i think its not good value considering the differentiation of the two figs is 4 extra sculpts and a dio. Firstly, the 2-pack should've been somewhere like $800, secondly, the clean and BD should've had its own accessories, cuz now you bought double of the same accessories.

That looks great. Glad to see the chest lowered and hips accentuated a bit.

Curious to see how the movable eyes will look.

The new body sculpt looks great. Really doing a disservice putting up the orders with photos of the current body, it's probably the weakest part of the proto.

Yeah, the current body is the biggest reason why I havn't ordered yet.
Really? Despite Joost stating from the beginning that the proto used a 'stand-in' body and they'd be making a custom one specifically designed around Pfeiffer's measurements?

Looking like the final product will exceed the proto!
That was pretty much always guaranteed since so much of the proto isn't actually what we'll be getting. So long as the rolling eyes are implemented well and don't completely ruin the likenesses, what we've seen so far should pale in comparison to the production pieces.

Oh ok, then I missed that information.
I must admit that sometimes I can't really keep up, when a thread "suddenly" gets 5 new pages of posts. So I tend to just skim through it.
Sometimes, in a hurry, I even only scroll through the images :hammerhead:
