Yeah it’s more an extra display option to pair with the « regular » Batmobile. In that sense, contrary to the regular that gets visible inaccuracies, the bat missile from HT looks pretty flawless.
Once again I don’t collect anything from Returns but I have to admit that next to the regular, it will look super cool!
Yeah it seems surprisingly faithful to the design in the movie. Normally I would have expected a HT batmissle to be about as inaccurate as the old ERTL model kit.

Although part of me still would have preferred the look of the filming miniature, with those very narrow windows. As it makes it look a bit tougher and meaner.

 I whipped up a little crude animation for how the wheels 'worked' in the movie versus how I think they work on the Hot Toy. I say 'worked' in the movie because - while this isn't totally to scale - you can see how impossibly wide the tires would have to be for it to really only be four tires. It's all movie magic.

Even if Hot Toys had kept it 8 wheels but made the wheel on the opposite side 'suck in' when it's partner extends out, that have been a good compromise. One could also argue though that this hardly matters since it's impossible to see both sides of the vehicle at the same time.

Yes, I imagined the one on the left was correct. Never considered the right option.

I'd love to hold out for Jazzinc, but ultimately I just don't see there being enough interest for them to move forward with it, judging by the results of a recent poll.

Plus as much fun as I think this vehicle is, it's not something I really want to pay Jazzinc prices for, or that I care as much about being perfectly accurate like the regular 89.
JazzInc would probably be close to double the price ($1,200?) if they made the Batmissle.

For this specific vehicle, I’m probably be OK sacrificing accuracy for a cheaper price since it’s so scene specific for a few seconds of screen time.

But I reserve judgement for later.

Tire width looks accurate. In the movie scene it pretty clearly is just 2 wheels up front and then 2 wheels in the back, but then somehow the tire width magically lengthened to be able to meet the edges of the torpedo body. But the real prop on display looks like it actually has to use 8 wheels. Not a detail I care much about how it works anyway, the whole thing never made sense as to how it can even turn without tipping over :ROFLMAO: As long they got the shape and proportions of it correct which it looks like, it'll be a great additional piece.

Ouch! I loved my old ERTL. I still have it... somewhere...
My understanding from the old ertl model kits is that they used the actual movie props and scans to make them, which is why they are detailed with the engine, machine guns and other equipment. Look at the batwing 1/25 scale from 1989, the mold was there at the time, but the right decal work made it movie accurate recently. Once you get past the chrome work, they match the movie props, for example looking at Vspectra's images, i'm literally seeing the ertl/amt mold

Easiest pass of the decade for me. Never cared for this scene in Returns. Feels like something you'd see in the Shumacher films.

The year is 2026.. Christmas morning..HT Batmissle has just been released... "honey open up your gift, and show everyone what you got for Christmas!"

Another thing I've been thinking about in regards to the magical mechanics of this vehicle.... where on earth does the pneumatic turntable come from that descends from the Batmobile in the earlier scene? And what happens to it when the Batmobile transforms into the Batmissile? Much like the vanishing second seat, this one leaves me scratching my noggin 😂
I know this all comes under 'suspension of disbelief' but my brain can't help try and puzzle these things out.

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but the shape of the canopy is wrong, as it angles downwards, where as on the screen used Batmissle, it's more horizontal.........:(
