They've definitely upped the ante here. You can even see the cybertronian glyphs on Ironhide's face. It's a start contrast to their RoTF Optimus in terms of detail and proportions.

Here's hoping they nail the paintwork. Sad to see they didn't reveal the other three figures yet.

Damn, these are just irresistible to me.
Something about those first movie designs calls me to put them on display.
The only ROTF designs/decos I like more than their first movie versions are Starscream with his cubertronian glyph tattoos (the only time in recent memory where adding tattoos has made a character more cool- maybe Momoa as aquaman too) and I also love tank-tread-legs Megs.

After that, give me Shockwave and we’re good.

I used to have a bunch of the MP scaled actual transforming versions but the accuracy and panel lines on top of the already busy model designs didn’t quite hit the spot for me.
I’m the exact type of heretic Transformers fan who prefers the non-transforming option.

I recently PO’d the re-release ROTF figure but now I’m gathering that isn’t particularly accurate or proportionate and that a first movie Prime will come eventually. Maybe I should just wait.

I always collected the transforming figures and also had some MPM, but never really transformed them and now I'm more into buying these Threezero perfect pieces (I wanted to have Prime 1 but they are inviable to me)

And this Ironhide is just perfect! I was waiting for Black Mamba, but it came really bad compared to this one

Non-transforming figures have their place in the market, at least when we're talking about the live-action designs. Provided of course that they remain the most detailed and accurate figures on the market.

Imo, I find a lot of companies struggle in achieving that "realistic"/CGI look for these designs. Threezero's recent figures (not including the RoTF Optimus) have come the closest to looking like the actual CGI models, and imo, these designs require high fidelity to look their best. When you begin to lose even the little details in paintwork, they lose that hyper-realistic look that worked really well with their busy design, which brings down their aesthetic (if that makes any sense).

Idk how the joints are like in the transforming figures (if anyone would like to share), but I appreciate how robust and durable the ones on the Threezero figures feel.

As I said in my previous comment, I hope threezero delivers with their paintwork. I can't speak for the market, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra if we can get the kind of paintwork you would see in custom DMK figures.

Hated the second and the third was decent. I think what I hate most is as time went on the decepticons were always relegated to these mindless monsters who got killed easily by the auto bots. The first movie felt more like 2 factions of robots rivaled in strength.

It’s gonna sting if these all come out at the same time.

Guess I should cancel that re-issue ROTF Prime PO.
Why? The 07 and ROTF design is the same to my understanding. I image the ROTF will give you more accessories as Optimus really didn't have anything in 07. Maybe the all spark could be included?

If you delve into the nitty gritty over at TFW2005, there’s apparently tons wrong with the ROTF figure; some are understandable compromises to allow for the combining gimmick such as his proportions being very off and then there’s just inaccurate or missing details as well that collectors have been amending with add on kits.

Either way, I decided today that I’m just going to commit to having a quality Bayhem display so will be keeping my ROTF Prime order and picked up a Jetfire too so I can have Jet-power Optimus be the centrepiece.
The upcoming 07 Prime will display leading the rest of the Autobot crew.
It’s gonna take a few years but I’m looking forward to this.

Ahhh I see. I didn't even take into consideration the necessary changes needed to accommodate combining the figures.

I 100% am behind a full 07 crew display, and will back that line wholly. But...the stupid orange blades and the forest scene in ROTF tickles my childhood brain still. Even if it's out of character for Optimus.
