Still not sure if I’m feeling this new Picard sculpt. He looks like he’s about to KILL someone

.

Now Picard did get this look in his eyes two or three times during the run of the series and a few more in the movies, but I don’t think this is the look we want as the representation of Picard in our displays. But I guess when can display QMX Picard in the main display and roll out this Picard every time Wesley does something stupid or annoying!

I really don't think he looks that angry, just serious. Did you get yours already?

Not yet. That was just a FB pic I found. I'll reserve final judgement for the in-hand review.

To be fair, the pictures we’ve been seeing posted seem to be at a distance and aren’t picking up the finer details.

He looks like he’s sporting his standard “analytical, sizing up the situation” bridge face to me.

I quite liked this look, if the final product looks like this, I’ll be happy. Everything we’ve gotten in hand out of TNG has been strong on the actor resemblance front so far.

It's weird, and another example of depends on the angle you look at it from. It's not mind-blowing accurate to Patrick Stewart, but who else will ever make a TNG Picard?

He had such a distinctive eye shape with those heavy upper eyelids. And it seems like it should be a key feature of every Picard sculpt.

I feel like with Data, Geordi, etc. it was crystal clear in what you were getting. We have to wait for someone from this forum who can actually take a picture.

My Essential version has shipped and I received tracking, not sure how long it will be before I get it though. I'll definitely take some pics but I'm sure someone will beat me to it lol

The armrests look a bit too gray in some shots, but otherwise I really like it. And the fabric carpet underneath is a nice touch too.

$220 for a chair does seem like a lot though...

I’m going to wait a bit on the chair I think. I’ll likely get it but not in a huge rush. Agreed that the price is high.

I don’t see myself getting a ton more chair pieces after this one. Already feel like I shouldn’t have bought the Enterprise E chair.

Agree with you there. Sell the E chair and pick up the ICONIC D chair

Yeah the TNG and TWOK chairs are an absolute must. Other things like Data's Ops station or the transporter station I can easily live without.

Problem is I’ll just lose money on the E chair I’m pretty positive. I’ll use it for someone but I wish I had passed initially. Agreed the D chair is iconic as is the TOS one. I don’t see myself upgrading my QMX TOS chair.

The chair was a definite order for me, although I do waiver between displaying the cast around a seated Picard vs standing behind Data & Ro in their stations with a printed backdrop of the chairs and arch.

My cabinets have two doors, so there's a "seam" in the middle, making the latter potentially better for display.

I've been putting Q in it. I think it works pretty well.
