Well said @Fr0stbit3! same exact helmet minus Wolffe’s own unique visor, his markings and the antenna!

To add, this is what I made for a FB post, to which most people understood the argument/comparison I was trying to convey, but of course was met with mockery, snarky responses and things like “I don’t care”, “I prefer the animated style”, etc, etc lol.

Just so people can see exactly what myself and @HyperDrive are talking about in regards to Wolffe’s helmet being inaccurate…

Both Commander Wolffe and Commander Neyo have had appearances in the Clone Wars show. Granted Neyo was a very quick cameo, but we still see him regardless. We can see that Neyo and Wolffe have pretty much identical helmets. The only difference is Wolffe has an antenna on his helmet and his visor as a slightly altered shape but otherwise they should be the exact same:

Using this, we can also assume that Wolffe would have the same helmet as Neyo if he were to appear in live action:

I tried to make this argument in the subreddit but most of the people couldn’t even see what I was trying to show.
I actually appreciate anyone who has an eye for details on certain things like this. I've built life size Boba Fetts based on nine different variations of Fett, which jump out at me but are imperceptible to many people. I'm not talking gauntlet colors, I'm talking subtleties of paint shades, helmet shape, dents, etc. I know of a lot of people who can see the subtle variations in the Vader costumes across the films...I simply can't (or don't care to). What you're sharing above falls into my "I just don't care to" camp. When I look at the Wolff prototype shared with the Plo announcement I'm excited for another Clone Wars figure to add to my display. I do wish HT would be consistent and dig into the details for those who do care, but I'm not surprised that they don't.

I just edited this post because I think what you and Hyperdrive are really saying is that the look should be stylized from the animated and not look like the movie clone helmets. If that's the case, then I'm in the camp that I want them all to look the realistic ones in the movies so I can blend my PT era and CW stuff together. To each their own for sure on that one though!

We are not saying it should be stylized….? Ideally, @Fr0stbit3 and I would like them to resemble and match the movie helmets and details.

I think you’re backwards cause you actually prefer the animated designs/style, but you fail to realize that Hot Toys have effed up a lot of things on the TMS TCW clones.

Lol, I do not want stylized clones (I mean, that would be better than Hot Toys weird blend style). I want Prequels live-action accurate clones.

There’s three different camps here:

1. Prequels/live-action accurate (correct)
2. Hot Toys’s own weird hybrid blend of animation and live-action (incorrect)
3. TCW animated style accurate ala ITSV line (would be correct to the animation style, but people don’t want them to be like that)

@Fr0stbit3 and I are in the #1 camp.

@darth dennis, you’re in the #2 camp.

Not exactly, what we want is for the helmet to resemble the ROTS look, NOT the CW look.

I want to have realistic representations of these cartoon characters so I want them to be as accurate as possible. If I wanted them to be animated then I would want the full thing to be animated.

I’m just going to casually save this image because it’s a great side by side comparison and post it in the comments of every HT post like the black suit Tobey guy does 😙

Right.

@darth dennis, unfortunately, I think it was misunderstood what we’re arguing..

Precisely. If HT were to do animated they should just go all out on a Spiderverse style clone wars line. Granted I wouldnt buy them because I prefer the realistic look, but then there wouldnt be any debate on this weird hybrid thing.

The only people who made accurate animated style clone wars figures was sideshow with their Anakin, obiwan, bane, ahsoka and Yoda

Ok, we are on the same page then. I would prefer Echo, Fives, Jesse, Rex, etc. to look like they would look in live action. I guess I'm ok with HTs interpretation of them and view them as "close enough" to live action representation. Sorry if I confused things, I got a little lost in the thread. :)

You’re speaking my language.

You know, but after this whole time and witnessing HT screw the pooch time and time again, I do wish they were animated style like the ITSV line. That’s a whole separate topic in of itself as well, cause I still would like an animated based Siege of Mandalore Ahsoka by Hot Toys and not the made up concoction they came up with….

I remember when the first TMS TCW line figure (Captain Rex) was announced only to quickly realize they botched the heck out of him. 😅

What could’ve been (more or less).. with the correct longer kama and belt buckle and straps.

Echo, Jesse and Fives already are pretty close to live action. We also don’t really have a realistic counterpart to compare them to like we do with Neyo.

What I wouldn’t give to be able to go back and have HT fix that visor…. Sigh

It was one thing the Ahsoka show got correct but damn… the rest of the armor is awful 🤣

It’s always “so close, but no cigar” with most of them, some figures more egregiously wrong than others. Cause the ones you mentioned do not look like they would’ve looked in live-action.

Fives and Echo have messed up and made up “Phase 1.75” helmets though. Blatantly wrong lol
Jesse has a normal phase 2 helmet

As far as I’m aware, the only thing wrong about Fives and Echo is the chin on the helmet right? Same thing as the Umbra trooper?

The most accurate clone wars figure they made was the coruscant guard. That one is perfect.

Comet will likely be the same if the actual release looks like the prototype.

The 501st is probably the next closest but it’s missing the blue paint on the backside.

Jesse is pretty good but we don’t have a live action ARC trooper to compare it to sadly, so I give this one a slight pass.

For both Fives and Echo, since they are supposed to be based on their Phase 1.5 buckets, they should’ve had:

- Phase 1 ear pieces, not Phase 2
- Phase 1.5 diamond chin, not Phase 2
- no vent lines (the animated P1 and P2 clones have them, but not Fives and Echo in the animation)

What P1.5 Fives should’ve looked like, more or less, along with the correct live-action pauldron:

Agreed, cause they based it off the cg model for ROTS Commander Thire/regular Shock Trooper.

The shade of blue should’ve been a lighter blue as in the cg model for ROTS. Missing blue paint on the back. Missing double indents on the chest (all Hot Toys clone figures are missing this).

Yeah, agreed haha

I’ve never been super invested in the ARC troopers to recognize the details of the phase 1.5 helmet so that’s my own ignorance there.

I also never noticed the lack of chest indents on the other clones.

Great post in general. I know so many people that want animated clones. I dont because my collection is realistic, almost all of my headsculpt ppl have their faces on and I want my collection to be harmonious. This would be a good job for SSC, go for it - but I want my HT ppl matching in that respect. IMO all armor-wearing ppl in SW onscreen are unnaturally skinny as well. HT avoids this problem for the most part.

If we wish to discuss bad HT interpretations, I point general you towards the breastplate-armor differences between SSC ARC troopers and the ones HT Echo and Fives are wearing. I dont notice most of these nitpicks but that one, I DO. Its just bad. I hope HT fixes this before release. Not hopeful they will, but maybe.
