I wonder what JND think about the overwhelming negativity to this release and the cancellations that have followed? (I know of 5 people who have cancelled already and that's just in my tiny group of contacts).

I get the impression that JND actually don't care, which is sad considering how "on board" I was with their claims about taking customer feedback into consideration and aiming to surpass the prototype with their final production versions. :(

This should have and COULD have been their greatest release yet. There's such a massive abundance of reference images and material available for them to use and they still screwed it up. So disappointing.

Allow me to correct myself.. "I'll wait for collector unboxing's..."

...that know how to futz the damn thing correctly, can use a camera without obscene lens adoration, and have some idea about color balance :slap
Rest assured, I will be doing everything I can to try and improve how this piece looks overall. Futzing the jacket collar for starters and replacing the hat will help a little, but the pants are beyond saving I think. :(
In that video I posted, you can see that the Connery head must be wider than the Ford head (when the guy puts Henry's glasses onto Junior's head). I am convinced that JND have made Indy's head smaller than it should be in an attempt to try and get the hat to fit without looking too over-sized. They didn't do a very good job of that. Grrrrrr!

Looks decent enough in this pic.

It would be great if people could put a little bit of thought into setting these statues up correctly. Not sure what this collector was thinking when they put Indy's shoulder bag on so it's half way up his torso! :stick

That's probably the most Harrison Ford-like I've seen this statue looking so far though.

Just went back and watched the reveal video and that's still the best it's looked (and the pre-order photos). I'm not saying it's amazing or perfect - but simply the best it's looked in any video/photos so far.

After that last collector video I'm thinking I'd, either get the left hand recast into a fist, or anything that looks better with the stance than the Kenner look.
The whip can be replaced. And everything else I can almost deal with except those ******* pants! :gah:

I've got no idea how to deal with that color. It's so obviously wrong...:crying

Well, I will be the first to say that it DOES look a lot better in Wiki's review.

He's absolutely been sponsored by JND because he's going on and on about the likeness - it's almost as though JND are using him as a mouthpiece to the criticism.

Saying that, the points are mostly valid and it does look a lot better here than anywhere else... but instead of sounding like a collector, it feels like he's don't the sculpt himself and has taken the criticism personally.

Yes, the commentary is a bit of a hard sell - I watched it again with the closed-caption English sub-titles on it and I agree with what you're saying. He's also saying what we heard previously about Disney / Lucasfilm supplying the colour codes for the costume parts. The pants color looks better in his video, so perhaps they won't be TOO bad in person.
I did post a reply on wikifigure's video regarding the fact that no amount of different lighting or holding it in person can take away the fact that the face appears to be too thin and the head slightly under-sized though.

A more in depth unboxing. Liking what i see here more than other first looks. Can't wait to have him in hand, but I'll likely be weathering the shirt, and perhaps commissioning new pants.

The sculpt looks really good in that video.

Definitely looks better in Wiki’s review. Not great, but better. The fedora hinders the likeness even more though. It needs a proper and more accurate one.

I've got that covered. :) It's a real shame that they couldn't bother to upgrade the Fedora shape more accurately, because the detailing they've put into it is fantastic. They even got the Herbert Johnson hatmakers logo and the "IJ" initials in there on the hatband which would never generally be seen unless you display the hat in his hand (like Clark Kent)(. It baffles me about how they can go to those extremes in capturing the details, but then screw up the overall shape of the Fedora! I refuse to believe that Disney / Lucasfilm denied them the opportunity to fix the shape of that.

Virtual Devil has posted his Youtube review video. But he's put it in his "Members only" section for today. Apparently, it will be available for all to see some time this week.

Seems a bit odd - the boat has already sailed. Members only is usually for exclusive stuff that you can't get/see anywhere else. I doubt his review is going to be any better or more insightful (and revealing some aspect of the statue nobody has ever seen before) than Wiki's? Weird...

Definitely a missed opportunity - he could have got a ton more hits if he got it out before anyone else.

He probably doesn't want the backlash from people who disagree with his glowing review of it. LOL
