I liked Rain but this obsession for her figure is getting weird. Was she that memorable in the film?

For me personally I didn’t find her all that memorable, Andy stole the show but I still liked the character and loved that end sequence.
However I really want Rain to display with the scorched Alien, want more Alien figures so if this does well could lead to other figures and with the potential of sequels Rain could be super memorable in the next film… combine that with the points above and Rain is a day 1 for me.
However I feel the obsession and desperation for this figure comes from Alien vs Predator fans always being shafted by Hot Toys. They have teased so many releases and ditched them to focus on more marvel and Star Wars releases. So if Rain doesn’t got up soon, she won’t go up at all.
As someone who doesn’t collected marvel, Star Wars or DC, the figures I get are few are far between. Other companies are starting to step up on drop a few interesting things but their output is slow and the quality is just not the same, and the franchises just aren’t on the level of Alien for me.
Last hot toys figure I added to the collection was Chapter 2 John Wick…
So the idea of hot toys tackling more Alien and Predator has me foaming at the mouth.
I get the leading to more point. Ripley is sorely needed.

Hot Toys likes the hype of new releases. I don’t see a Ripley or big chap 2.0 happening if we don’t get Rain.
I’d love an Andy if we also got the offspring, I don’t want my human characters out numbering the creatures in a shelf… but il make it work the more Alien figures the better.

Good points, I’m in this boat of collectors.I mean, just speaking personally, it's really as simple as:
- Cute girl
- Big gun
- Nice soft goods
- Above average (if not quite perfect) sculpt
In that sense, I guess I'm easy to please.
I also collect partially based on if I like the actor/actress (Cailee Spaeny in this case), not just the character in a specific movie. Beside being cute, I thought she was also good in Priscilla and Civil War.
I’ll probably get the Electra figure (from Deadpool 3) just for Jennifer Garner and nostalgic purposes, even though I don’t particularly like the old Fox movie.

1/6 collections are sausage parties and it's getting old lol. Female characters are typically given shoddy figures or are actively ignored (except for certain characters made over and over like Black Widow), so I'm enthusiastic for any new one that has an overall look I like.

I might be in the minority here but I actually didn’t like her character that much. She’s the Wish.com version of Ripley. Andy on the other hand.. great character.
For me personally, yeah I find her attractive but aren’t most characters these actors play conventionally attractive? I don’t collect for that, I collect for the character or IP itself.
Rain wasn’t that great of a character of course (goes without saying, she doesn’t hold a candle to Ellen Ripley, one of the best characters of all time), but I agree I’d still like to have a Rain figure cause it’s a cool character design and I want to pair her with the Scorched alien. She was memorable enough for being yet another attempt at giving us a “modern-day Ripley.” Imo, Shaw established herself in her own right. I personally even like Daniels for what she is too. For the record, I regard Rain and Daniels as poorly written characters, but I’m forgiving when it comes to the lowest of the Alien IP. I mean I’m a sucker for this franchise.
I also don’t think the Scorched alien represents Romulus well enough on its own, IMO. I think having Rain in front of it would have some presence. In all fairness, it’s what I’d like to do with my MMS366 Ripley figure, but I don’t have a Big Chap.

I'm getting it because I enjoyed the movie, but if getting it gives a small glimmer of hope that we get more human figures from the alien franchise I'm all for it. Heck the molds for the colonial marine armor and weapons are just sitting around in a hot toys warehouse gathering dust, just waiting to be used...
Romulus is one of the better films made in the franchise. I really enjoyed Prometheus as well. Covenant wasn’t that great but fair. I’m my opinion Romulus was pretty tense and gave us a solid female heroine. Was she that good? It was quite entertaining and she did a good job in her role. It was a great installment.
