I opened Aragorn, and everything impressive aside, I am really ******* annoyed by this.

The part where the hair meets the sculpt was left unrooted, and very poorly painted at that.

This can't be right, is it?
That's how mine was as well. Once I washed and styled the hair, I used some dark brown acrylic paint to touch up the sculpted area some. Looks much better now and more seamless than before. Definitely shouldn't be something we have to do though.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity looking back at this thread, I see a lot of talk about first or second batch. Is there anyway to know what figure is a second batch or is it purely how it looks?
Purely how it looks once you have it in hand. There are no clear markings saying which batch it is from prior to ordering unless the seller says so and you take them for their word and/or their pics show a clear image of the sculpt to verify and compare with others who have one from later batches.

I also opened Superman, and he has a nasty visible mold line along the side of his head, and some shoddy paint on his hair as well. Not sure if Kit can help me sort a replacement, or if it's even worth the extra cost / headache.

I wanna say I'm done with Inart for good after this.

It's a shame because I was really impressed with Aragorn's body. The outfit, the hands, the boots especially. The weathering is well done, and adds a lot of realism.

Sidenote. I was surprised with how light the duster is.

Definitely aspects to applaud about their work. Just seems there's no getting around the inconsistent quality, corner cutting, and shoddy factory production. That's 4/4 now that I've been disappointed.

Maybe it's me who's overly picky. I don't know.

This is why I've been so on the fence about getting this figure, the thought of spending $700+ (CAD) and getting one of the heads with poorly done hair just scares me. I didn't even know about this sculpted hairline issue until today so that puts me off even more 😭

It doesn't hurt to ask OSK if you're still within the 30day window. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they (InArt) say the mold line is within their standards and not considered an issue.

I definitely understand your frustration, though. I hate feeling like I have to hope that I get a "good one" when it comes to their figures.

Anyone here get the WonderWorld duster? Not sure it looks like an upgrade to me.
That's what I was thinking when I saw it as well. doesn't look like an upgrade to me and need a lot of weathering to get rid of the brand new look it has to it. Also, interesting that they seem to being doing bulk orders now with 10 minimum. Same for Harry Potter casual clothing.

Can't help but feel it looks a bit like pleather tbh.

You're not being overly picky. InArt sells their work as "the next generation of 1/6." It's reasonable to expect - with the white glove videos etc. a product close to the prototype and consistency. Wiser customizers on the forum (having worked with rooted hair/paint) may been dubious about the ability to keep the hair consistent on a production line, but InArt acts like you pull a figure from the box, tweak a few bits of hair and you're good.

It's possible their QC will improve. But IMO they've come up with a formula that works so far - nice sculpt and accessories, fabrics that (mostly)
look good even if they aren't the best for quality. So far they are making sales so why change. Plus, folks have gotten figs they are genuinely happy with.
InArt is a choice, not THE choice. And they don't fall over themselves making resolutions for problems easy.

Fair comment. (y)

My Aragorn also seems to have a short hairstyle, what do you think? Inart says that this is handmade and cannot be recognized as a fault, I should contact the dealer, I wonder what the dealer will say to me then, contact Inart or what the hell ?
What do you think guys?

How does it look on the figure from a normal distance, different angles?

It's a bit hard from that angle - IMO not only is the hair possibly short, but looks like you didn't get a lot of hair. Depends on whether you want to put up with InArt's *&^% about potentially sending the sculpt back, having to go through the dealer, etc. InArt makes it difficult to resolve their own problematic lack of consistency. You hear this kind of thing from statue manufacturers too - "individual variations" when clearly it's (*&%.

The other option if you can't stand it is to pay a customizer or - buy your own mohair, glue, and go in from the bottom and add hair. Since Aragorn has shaggy hair, you can probably extend it and blend the added hair with the original. IMO there's not a lot of mystique about InArt's hair, it's glued in. Only mystery is what glue they used - it's good stuff, hold like iron.

Also you could try a good wash, condition, and pull the hair down as it dries, which will take out some of the wave and give a bit of extra length.

Also, you could threaten a charge back, since the product in no way resembles what was being sold.

INART’s QC is inconsistent. By now, you should know what you’re getting yourself into by wanting/purchasing INART products.

Guess I’m also lucky, cause I’m 5 for 5, and yeah I’m including Ginger Joker. Hopefully, I get a nice Paul and red suit Joker.
