Here's to our wallets, man.

What other InArt POs do you have?
I shouldā€™ve added *probable 6-7 POs. As of right now, I just have 2019 Phoenix 2-pack and Paul on order.

But yeah, the ROTS line has me anxiously waiting. Iā€™m reallllly hoping they do Vaderā€¦ thatā€™s a dream figure man. Some more Jedi, more clones, and I donā€™t mind if they 2.0 certain characters. Definitely seems like we could be in for a treat with this line.

If there ever was an anniversary that I could see have a good chance of delivering some bangers, it'd be ROTS. A ROTS Vader would be cool. I personally hope for a 2.0 sculpted Anakin. Hopefully after the ROTS wave I can put my money back to InArt, I feel my interest in HT's products slowly cooling down.

I just NEED a Bespin Han and Hoth Han and Luke, and then I'll be done with OT figures.
It's the EU figures I'm hoping for more of now.
Otherwise,I can get some LOTR along the way.

I think it would be really interesting to see how many disenchanted ex Star Wars fans there are in the InArt threads now collecting LOTR :ROFLMAO:

Put me in that bucket !!

I've been collecting Vintage Toltoys/Kenner Star wars for awhile now.
So ive been chasing some grail items inbetween HT/Asmus.
I recently sold the Inart Premium Aragorn to get some childhood collections that had some amazing items you just can't find 40+ yrs later.
Now that's done, time to get back in on the LOTR.

They said that Frodo and Sam will most likely go up for PO 2026. And completing the Fellowship (Boromir, Gimli, Merry and Pippin) in the next 2-3 years. No definite and current plans for any other characters beyond them.

2026? So maybe we'll have Frodo in hand by early 2028...

I might not have Gimli until 2030...

OMG, this hobby :slap
Honestly, knowing it's gonna be a while and spaced out makes me reconsider getting the Legolas.
I didn't commit as my finances made getting the whole Fellowship unfeasible......
But if they're spread out.....

Meme Think GIF

They were always going to be spread out. Given inArts track record with their production times and their limited resources at the factory and having to make time and resources for other IPs, the Fellowship was always going to be a long haul. So budgeting for them shouldn't be a problem.

Just looking at the SW section of this forum, it seems pretty dead to me. These Ahsoka show figures get released and there are about 3 posts about them. Figures from even 3-4 years ago were getting 100+ pages of posts. I think we will only see that again if they do OT figures like Hoth Han and Luke, Taun taun, Bespin Han etc. reissue farmboy Luke and ANH Leia.

ā€œFlavor of the weekā€ schlock that releases 1.5-2 years after the movie/show is usually going to remain schlock. Why would it be any different? The source material needs to actually be decent.

One ā€“ of the many ā€“ reasons why thereā€™s always buzz with INART threads is cause they do timeless stuff, icons and new character designs/IPs that will cement themselves into pop culture.

If Hot Toys truly focused on PT and OT stuff and only the best of the best Disney SW, then it could be a different story. Now if INART had the rights to Star Wars/Disney licenses, that would definitely change things and youā€™d see immensely more online traffic than you do LOTR.

Depends. I'd get a farmboy Luke; but mostly am waiting on Andor.

Then there's the Mando movie.

There's lots of reasons for un-hype; like over-saturation of SW, shows that fail to impress, overstretched collectors who can't afford all this stuff, poor releases, re-releases...heck, when's the last time some huge "event" production generated excitement. Something totally new. Like, Rebel Moon was a fail.

I've got Legolas on PO but don't know that I'm excited about it, vs. being pleased with an addition to the collection. Hopefully. I was excited about my JS Artisan, but to me that was something pretty new because it was Artisan. I'd be more excited about Legolas I guess if as a release he was more stacked with accessories, like the HP series, but it's a pretty basic release.

I'll be excited about ASMUS Thranduil as it's something I'd hoped for, for a while. Excited about Artisan Bucky and BW - but that's the thing too, these days, huge wait times. I keep forgetting I have a Legolas PO. And with these limited in number releases, you can only be excited with a limited group of people, because other people aren't getting the fig.

INART makes relevant power players. Designs that actually excite. If they had Disney licenses, theyā€™d also do characters of similar nature and staying power. You know theyā€™d finally give us Indiana Jones (no, not Dial of f*cking Destiny Indy), Jack Sparrow (again, no, not stupid-ass DMTNT or OST Jack), a Tobey Spider-Man figure worth itā€™s salt from the Raimi trilogy, Alien or Aliens Ellen Ripley, etc. I didnā€™t even mention the boatload of Star Wars or MCU classic/iconic designs theyā€™d be able to do too.

Sorry, but the Ashoka line, or any other ā€œflavor of the weekā€ products, are forgettable and I think itā€™s head-scratching/comical when people liken figures from subpar IPs to actual power players that INART makes. They just donā€™t compare. Is it okay to like ā€œcrapā€? Of course. I mean, Iā€™m getting Romulus Rain and the Scorched alien but I know itā€™s nowhere near the level of Alien and Aliens (even Prometheus imo). I wish people in this community were more objective.

I donā€™t know how you can forget having a timeless character on PO.
For one thing, I already own 2 ASMUS Legolas with very nice accessories, the Helm's Deep base.

This just isn't a brilliant release IMO. 2 cloaks that look completely unfinished and you don't even get the silver pin of the council cloak, 1 bow, no Hobbit Mirkwood armor, no interesting base with, say, a tree trunk or something to go with a "woodland elf" or even a bit of Amon Hen. Plastic boots. Not enough arrows IMO.

To be fair, more stuff probably would raise the cost even more.

Then, the release isn't due for months and who knows if it will be delayed. I might get more excited with the first in-hand pics. Or horrified :lol .

Actually several months in, I'd say Aragorn is a more exciting figure if you have the Ranger cloak. Or not.

Do you mean "view collecting like I do?":monkey3 As far as "relevant power players" nope, I don't own a Batman or Joker. Well, a few DC pieces as 1/10 Iron Studios to represent, that's it.

Depending, I've always liked logical world expansions, because of Hollywood desperately needing to rehash/sequalize, for one thing - tho I don't always object to sequels. The Hobbit expanding into the North (Mirkwood, Laketown, Erebor, Angmar) for me was exciting. The Outer Rim for SW - finally, because I was Sky-walkered out, and even then Luke got dragged back in. POTC expanding into different pirate strongholds.

E.g. the various renditions of these "power players" over time for me is just monotonous (even if a lot of them are &^%$ likenesses). So, you may think of Baylan Skoll as part of a "subpar IP"šŸ˜ but as part of my collection he's 1) Beautiful fig and 2) an interesting aspect of Force Users. (At the moment he's standing next to Aragorn and you can't tell me which sculpt is better quality, Baylan is stunning. )

I'm Gandalf-ed out too. I own WETA statues, ASMUS, people keep making Gandalf. Am a lot more excited about getting a new Thranduil and IF InArt releases Thorin.

Or - MY shelves sort of loosely depict a created world, with diorama bases, accessories, droids, etc.
I don't WANT a lineup of "power players" who may not even be characters I am into, like Spiderman.
Am slowly bashing a "random female woodland elf" together right now to go with Thranduil, for a background character. Am happy ASMUS released some elf soldiers. Droids to go with SW displays.

Am sure InArt will produce, sooner or later, "relevant power players" or someone else will, and that's cool, but it's hard to get excited about the 73rd Iron Man or Gandalf #48 for me anyway.
