    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

I've made the plywood base and screwed the body sections onto it. The armour prevents him from sitting comfortably. Not much headroom inside.

    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

Making the rear wheel arches. I've used square beams to join the sub-assemblies together. These have been placed under seats, behind consoles or externally, around the wheel wells. This was done so they don't intrude into the interior space. The screws are mainly on the inside, where they...

Present Toys - PT60 - Flight Officer Aliens Ripley

Ordered one from OSK. One of the only times the production piece actually looks better than the prototype. I think i might order a 2nd one for the loader. The shoes were made by Reebok, not Adidas.

    Soosoo toys - Techno Duo

I'm in for these, but there should be a more obvious height difference between the pair.

    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

Engine panel fitted. Right side panel done. Front wheel arches being made. Temporarily taped together, just to get an idea of the size. Once I make the plywood base, they will be screwed down. The grey beam above the door is just to keep everything straight. It's not the roof height.

    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

Left side panel mostly done. The central engine panel will be removeable to allow a viewing window into the interior, with the roof still in place.

    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

I'm going to use a sheet of plywood for the chassis, which should stop any body flex. The body sections will be screwed to that.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Added the engine ancillaries, the battery, brake master cylinder and the wiper motor. I also reworked the suspension turrets to be more accurate to the real car. On the opposite side I added the washer bottle and a functional horn sounder. Making the bomb device. I embedded a magnet into...

    1/6 scale Xwing cockpit project

The working screen is a fantastic touch. I'd be very interested in knowing how you did that. I'm hoping to fit working monitors in my Aliens APC build.

    1/6 Scale Aliens APC (scratchbuild)

The Mad Max Interceptor build is winding down now, so i like to start a new project as I'm waiting for paint to dry. I'm not going all in on it just yet, as the size of it means I have to clear the other projects from my shed first. I just wanted to tackle the hardest part first, the front end...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

I've just come back from a holiday, hence the lack of updates. I managed to get most of the body panels sprayed before i left. Just as well, since the weather has definitely gotten chilly. The weathering will have to be done with the car fully assembled, so I'll leave it until all the little...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making the rear shelf. This is attached to the roll cage. Fitted into the car. As i build all the little interior bits and bobs, the body is being painted. This is going slowly due to the sporadic bouts of decent weather we're getting right now. Before any weathering is applied, I have...

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making opening filler caps for the extra fuel tanks. Glued into place. I need to find some tiny springs to finish. Making the jerry cans. I thought of buying some 3D printed ones, but they have print lines which would take time to remove.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Finessing the body panels before spray painting. We've had a poor summer here in the UK. Most of the car itself is built, with only the stuff in the back still to make.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Added the door check rods. These are sprung to help open and close the door.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Tackling one of the fiddliest jobs on the car, making functional door handles. The placement of each part is critical, so that the door panels will align exactly when closed.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

The switch is attached to the gear lever. There is a pivot at the base. The finished assembly is fitted to the transmission tunnel.

1/6 Scale Mad Max V8 Interceptor (scratchbuild)

Making a small but important feature, a functional blower switch. 2 wires are glued inside a square tube and a piece of square rod is drilled to take a nail. The rod is glued to the tube. The collar is rounded off and the nail is inserted from the opposite end. The nail is cut down and...

Adding the lighting. luckily, it's not too complex.
