That is just aweseome, the texture of the robe, the Guinness sculpt, the paint work, they really did a great job on this. I've found all the dios I've gotten to be really top notch in the paint apps.
This is an outstanding diorama, as far as dioramas go. The background is a nice thick piece of Plexiglas. The figures are very well done as well. It is BIG! When I ordered, I thought I'd be disappointed with the background, but now I can't see having it without it. It's a very nice addition to the piece. It's also very reflective, so taking shots without getting a mirrored image of the inside of my unfinished basement was impossible, lol! Anyway, here are the photos:
Obi-Wan's height looks fine here, head propotionate to the body, I think this viewing angle reall shows how much his pose from the profile really plays into the appearance of his height.
I think it is the width of the robes when viewed from the side, that make Obi look stubby. There' nothing to break up all that color. Believe me, the height is perfect.
Well I think Obi-Wan was sculpted to have his legs posed similar to this, crude example but shows the bent and spread leg look that could make him look stubbier from a side view.
Even when those were cutting edge, the Luke, Vader and Obi-Wan were pretty so-so, only saved by the "wow" of the light up sabers, but Obi-Wan having a green blade was lame.
I suppose this is probably one of those pieces that looks better in person as it still looks like short people wearing Star Wars costumes. My eye is having a hard time getting past the seeming disproportionate nature of the body structure, particularly the small sized legs.
