How's this for an idea at Hot Toys. They designate a separate (maybe even outsource) division for an "MC" line (sort of an M-Icon line) that handles newer classic licenses.

Keep the entire company rehashing popular ____ and the other handling all "others"

They get these licenses that go nowhere. They take on more than they can handle and on top of that continue to rehash the "money makers"

I see nothing wrong with expanding and tacking on your logo to the finished product.

I'd rule out the mesh under suit/armor pieces construction. They didn't do an under suit for '89 Batman, I don't see them doing it for a future Bale Batman.

Imagine the QC problems that would be associated with a task like that. Collectors think tailoring or PERS duds are bad, imagine a full, plated suit.

"My panels don't line up right"

"The plates are crooked"

"Look at this glue residue, does yours have it"

"Oh no, the finish is coming off the under suit"

"My ab plates just fell off"

You know from a mass production stand point it would be a quality control nightmare.

If they did the mesh, that might actually convince me to buy the 1/6th(though let's be brutally honest here, I'll probably wind up buying it anyway:lol).

I wouldn't get too excited about a 1/4 TDK or TDKR suit just yet batfan. Remember, we've only seen what Enterbay is capable of in this new frontier of this 1/4 scale format, not Hot Toys. Rambo, Begins suit Bats and TDK Joker have T2 T-800 backing them up, what does future 1/4 Hot Toys figures have to go by?

We don't know what Hot Toys is capable of doing in that scale. I mean, I have faith in them as a company but lets not forget that their 1/4 announcement for Avengers, Batman Returns, TDKR, Predator and Terminator was a spur of the moment thought, triggered by competition.

They have to be in development stages and far from production releases. Even then, I don't expect a Hot Toys 1/4 TDK suit Batman to be radically different from 1/6 other than size. Look at their last two Bale Batman figures. They were plagued with problems in both design and quality. I would think having a larger scale would create even more problems.

In 1/4 scale, the Begins suit is a walk in the park compared to the Dark Knight suit. It's a massive undertaking that requires innovations on Hot Toys' part.

1/4 should be a heck of a whole lot easier to produce simply because there is so much more room to work with than 1/6, therefore less problems.

Is this true?

You've answered your own question with a single word:competition. As long as EB keeps up their quality, HT will follow suit.

Man this figure was so cool until they ruined the prototype :gah:

Plastic Enemies just posted this on their Facebook wall last night, and today is a Sunday. Could we be seeing Bane soon?

Hadn't seen that pic yet!

I'd like to see them take on more elaborate, unique figures.

Jake Sully and Iron Monger meet this but I'm not a fan of Avatar and I'm not really interested in Iron Man figures. I'm looking forward to the Batman Returns Penguin and would love a Battle Damaged T-800 or a young John Connor. Those types of figures break boundaries instead of just another re-release or remake of an existing figure.

I'm definitely sick of the Bale Batman. I have different versions of both suits and would like to see something new, like a damaged version (Batman will be depicted in a "Battle Damaged" state in TDKR). I could do without another regular suit. After the Batman Returns Keaton Batman, it'll be hard to stomach any more 1/6 Batman that aren't vastly different from what we've already seen.

I tend to agree, but I don't currently have a TDK suit with a cowl. My DX02 has the Bruce Wayne head on it. I know you already have two DX02's so it's a non issue for you, but I would be very pleased if Hot Toys released a definitive/improved TDK suit Bat.

Damn, considering that that is an idealized image and not an actual screen grab from the film, you'd think they would adjust for little imperfections....like actually have Batman's knee armor appear to sit on his knee, and not his thigh.

Still a cool image though...would make a neat poster...or a really dynamic statue.

Nah, the winner is:

Shame Medicom's production version looked a million miles away from this. But once modded, you can get pretty damn close

I had the Medi and modded it. I really did like it and think its the best figure released for this suit, but the prototype Hot Toys is just much better. The size is better, suit looks more screen accurate, and I prefer the headsculpt on the prototype. Medicoms still rocks tho

More than the knee pads, the thing that stands out most to me is how hairless Bane is.:lecture

The DX10 set me over the edge. I am loyal to no one.

:lol:lol

Agreed. That thing looks amazing. I think the V1 proto was awesome too. I was looking at the specs today actually.
