I know that there is an unlicensed version available but would there be any interest in an officially released piece from SS at 1/4 scale? With the upcoming Alien Maquette it would be nice to round off the collection.

What upcoming Alien Maquette?

Chris

I have written to SS about every six months about the Alien Queen in 1/4 or more realistically 1/5 scale since Ask Sideshow started. I have also asked about 1/4 maquettes for Alien, Aliens and Resurrection with no specific reply to my question.

It is a dream piece for me.

I am pretty disappointed that they seem to have gone the 1/5 route on a new statue line and are taking so long with new Alien and Predator 1/4 announcements.

Well I think we will see the Alien maquette in the coming months hopefully before SDCC 2011. The Queen is going to be a big ask but it wouldn't be any taller than say the 1:2 pieces SS produce.

1/4 Winston Queen Maquette, consider it SOLD. She's one of the most impressive Movie Monsters ever created.

It will be expensive, but worth every penny.

This is true, the 1/4 kit already exists, but I'm not sure of the status of the original queen maquette that was/is at Stan Winston Studios. Or even if Sideshow would use it. The SS 1/4 queen bust was taken from from this as far as I know. I think the pose of the queen from that kit/maquette could be compressed a bit to reduce the height and make it more display friendly, the pose is very rared up. I always wished I had the skills and balls to add the rest of the body to the 1/4 queen bust!
If this was released and was at least 1/5 scale I would buy it in a heartbeat.
