Well, I see noobs Sideshow collectors coming on this board every day and they dont seem to matter about the Size difference.Thing is, if you've been collecting Sideshow for many years, specifically Marvel, most of your collection is 1/4 and that new 1/5 trend from Sideshow definitely is annoying.

So if you don't have a problem with scale, you're a noob?

Don't let the post count fool you, brother, I go waaaaay back.

I've been collecting SS for years and it still doesn't matter to me. You can insult all you want but no one's opinion is more important or the authority than anothers

I don't think Shai was insulting anyone.

It's cool that it does not matter to you. It really does not matter to me either. All of my statues are on different stands so you really can't tell which is 1/5 and which is 1/4.

In fact after selling off a few of my statues I only have one true 1/4 scale statue left. Thats the Raiders Indy. I have the Conan the Barbarian PF but there is no way that is 1/4 scale.

It is the standard evolution in this type of collecting imo to get larger and larger, what wows us now are larger collectibles in comparison to bowen or perhaps the evolution from action figures themselves. oh and of course my vote is for 1/4

Don't care. If the sculpt is great and it's of a character in which I have an affinity to, I will own it.

1/4 scale is 25% bigger than 1/5 scale. It might "only" be a few inches in height but it also factors in to the bulk of a statue as well. The size difference matters to me because I like my display to be consistent.
I think it is pretty clear with how well Venom, Carnage and Spiderman turned out at 1/4 as comiquettes that match in with PF's that the 1/5 scale should be dropped. But it won't be.

. :exactly:

yup! no way is a colossus that's smaller than a gambit or wolverine gonna look right when putting the xmen together.

only way to really stop 1/5 scale is to stop buying them! i practice what i preach.:)

I have been collecting for years and my older pieces that I will keep are all 1:4. No idea why they are making smaller statues that do not match. That is dumb. After reading information from this board I canceled all 1:5.

exactly. I don't mind mix and matching SS, Bowen, Koto, Hard Hero, etc.

Each company has some great statues no matter the scale.

Also, I can't see many of us posing the entrire SS X-MEN team together. Not many have that space to pose them all together and with some of the poses it would be hard anyway. So, in that matter, I don't think the difference between 1:4 and 1:5 is that big of deal.

1/4 scale versions are on the left. 1/5 on the right. Thanos is current comiquette at PF size. :peace
