Hagen was Clayface. That was it, not Dagget. Dagget was the true villain of the episode.
Clayface was the sympathetic character. He wanted to cream for his career rejuvenation and because of side effects him trurning in Clayface, wanted revenge on Dagget.
It wasn't just the side effects. IIRC, Dagget has his goons dump like a barrel of the goop on Hagen and that's what turns him into Clayface.

You mean Matt Hagen? I don't think Roland Daggett was ever portrayed in a sympathetic light.

Regarding Jervis... I don’t know. He might start out as a somewhat sympathetic character but swiftly shows his true colours. Here’s a good video on the character and his portrayal in BTAS. And I agree with the creator’s sentiment, he’s essentially a psychopathic incel. I love all of his episodes, though.

According to an interview with Paul Dini (here http://www.animationarena.com/batman_the_animated_series.html) "Mad as a Hatter" was based on this real life incident

I have not seen BTAS since the 90's/early 2000s. Have it on bluray though...but so much memories. I watched it everyday at around 4pm on FOX.

I know everyone loves the Mr. Freeze story his origin story that is...Clayface and Dagget was also a very sympathetic character....

As I got older I actually could relate to the Mad Hatter's unrequited love. She choose the bad boy who mistreats her over Jervis.....like if I knew then what I know now, as they say....perhaps the Mad Hatters origin would have made him my favorite villain.

But Dagget was such a great plot and the origin and Clayface was made compelling, with the ending being the icing on top of that episode. Memories...

I am getting this. I hope I can get it....and I get the time.

I never got the impression Billy mistreats Alice, they have a fight then he goes to her house and apologizes before proposing to her. Tetch later controls him to break up with her over the phone and after both are free of Tetch's control they are back together

The DCAU comics even have them getting married

Oh, interesting! Very clear parallels. If Jervis' incel rage didn't already fully come through in Mad as a Hatter, his statement in Trial that he would rather have killed Alice than respect her wishes made it abundantly clear.

Anyone who needs a little refresher on Hagen/Clayface or anyone interested in the tragedy of the character, this is a fantastic little video essay:

btw, the product pages for Clayface are already live:

This epispdes POV was from Tetch. He was her emotional rock and was always the one she ran to with her troubles. She always confided in him. Hence he was the sympathetic one in this story. His POV and why he kind of snapped and became the Hatter, because wanted love of one woman.

As a guy we can all relate. Perhaps we call it today, the friendzone.

If I only knew then, what I knew today, Tetch would be my favorite villain, not Clayface, or Two-Face.

Love the photography on this one. A lot of great shots!

Also interesting that we're seeing the box art already. They've never done that before.

How much do you guys pay usually in customs in Europe? I'm on the fence about trying to snag this one.
Here in Italy depends, i buy Spiderman, and Venom from Mondo Animated line and i have no custom, but in the past, for this Batman line i pay 45 € of custom, but not for all the characters.

Another awesome figure!

Got an update from DHL for Scarecrow!

Can't wait to add new characters in the display

Nice poster - is that the limited print from Bottleneck Gallery?

I believe I bought that print last year but forget if I received it yet - most of my art prints are still unopened in the tubes. :lol
