1/6 Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne portrait finally...

I have ABs too and I was going to get it painted a week before this one came out. Now it is back in the corner but I guess I will just let it pant anyway. It is still the best BEGINS sculpt out there (maybe together with Medicom), nevertheless it is not 100%, but trust me it looks miles better in hands.

Alltogether I have to agree, Adam really brought this to a new level. Hot Toys really needs - and I never thought I am going to write this - improve their sculpting if they want to compete.

You know what's funny about the Andy B, Bale. It looks TONS better unpainted in hand, than it does painted. And it's not because of a crap paint job, the paint on mine is top notch ... it's weird

I know what you mean. I have exactly the same impression. I belive it might be a problem of having no skin texture... It is maybe a little too smooth...

Venakin Skywalker painted and slightly modified mine (removed hair strand on forehead, added hair to sides, dremmeled down the chin a little) - since its modified it's perhaps not the best reference, but here you go:

Now if only I could upgrade those Bruce and Alfred heads....

He looks a little like that guy from Prison Break, who played the bank guy in TDK doesnt he? Even the suit matches the one he wore in the bank robbery scene.
Mine is absolutly identical minus head btw. I have the HT one on it and it looks redicoulously small.
I believe the AB head is not really made for wearing a suit but it might work for an Ninja outfit (see my sig) as the hair style is very simillar. However in TDK scenes he looks always kind of wrong...
Still a nice piece you have there.

Yeah the head does seem off for TDK scene whichever way you look at it... but until and unless Adam offers his Bale, it'll have to do!!

Been working on a Training scene bruce for some time, not ready quite yet, hopefully soon...

I enjoy this statue almost everyday. It is really one of my favorite parts in my colletion. Only negative thin about this statue is - who could have guessed - the head. Unpainted, amazing. Painted, totally off.

I was thinking about cutting the head off and use a recast of Medicoms but I would need someone to do that. He should at least be able to do a decent recast (to match materials) and take the old head off without causing too much damage to the awesome paint job of the body and ad the new one...

BTW: I still love the way the AB sculpt painted by Josh came out. You can see a small image of it in the very last pic...

No, not at all. I think Andy did an awesome job on the begins sculpt; it really captured bale. Very nice statue btw, where did u get it?

Always the same guys who jump on the train. But to not make it a secret: My cousin founded a firm with a guy who knows how to build up 3D models on the computer. He is obviously quite talented and does have access to a 3D printer. And due to his contract my cousin has full power about him and guess who has full power about my cousin.
Summed up, we are in the lets-see-what-is-possible-stage and the armor is our test object. IF - and this is really not save yet - this is 1.) doable and 2.) affordable this will be developed. Expect an own thread in Febuary unless HT announces one.

BTW: Whoever shoots me a pm asking for one before I have opened a thread will not only be ignored but put on a list of people who will get their armor last and only for the price x2.

I got it from Darkcarnival. Really a nice guy. Unfortunatly it is sold out for almost a year now. He was the one who had the original molds and decided to quit. It is pretty rare. From what I know (from the seller) I have the only one that is painted. And I think about ripping its head off.
I am going to meat a sculptor in Berlin in December to discuss a potential Henry Ducard Ninja as counter part to this one and maybe even a Ras Al Ghul (Wanabe) as a third character - similar to those Star Wars statue that look cool each on its own but become a kick ass dio when placed together -... Nothing set in stone yet though...

I took a closer look at my AB Bale and I think the big problem that throws it off when it is painted is the left and right side to the jaw. these areas are a little (and I mean very very very little) bit too small which causes the chin to fall back and make him look as the Prison Break guy. Otherwise (hairline, eyes, nose, even mouth) he appears to be perfect, especially from the side. Guess I will let it paint anyway. It will work for my Ninja Bruce in Feb.

It'll be really interesting to see Adam's sculpt with a real paint job (not Photoshopped) to see if the Christian Bale voodoo curse is on that one too...you know, the one that makes a sculpt look perfect without paint, and just not right as soon as you add colour...

Love the set-up you've got there - is Bruce looking at a pencil?

And maybe it's just me but maybe see if actually taking his right hand off lets you achieve the hand-in-pocket look a little better. With the angle that it's in there at the moment...he kinda looks like he's playing pocket hockey...
