So tried to pry it open and didn't succeed. Luckily I could move the magnet around inside the pack and holding them horizontally get them to attach. However I've alway had to repair parts of the backpack at least 4 times with both hot glue and crazy glue.

Hi all, I just received what I thought was a brand new Desert Sands Detachment Sandtrooper. But when I opened the box to check the accessories, the white pauldron is broken!! It looks totally dodgy because the broken strap has been tied in a knot to the end of the pauldron!!

I cant even re-attach it because the tiny holes in the strap have been split open!!!

Please see the attached photo. Surely this is a fault right!!! Should I contact the seller and ask them WTF since this was supposed to be brand new and unopened!!!

While I wait to hear back from the seller, is there some quick dummies guide to how to put all the accessories onto this guy? I have no idea how some of the accessories I'm seeing in the photos here are supposed to be put on!!! Is there mostly a specific position too for all the pouches?

Tbh chockey, i find the pauldrons easier to pose as they were in the movie without that strap, it just forces the pauldron into an overly erect position.

The small pouch is a good alternative if you're going to mount him on a Dewback, but not necessary.

That pauldron was obviously tampered with and certainly not new.

Seller contacted me straight back this morning and said he had three brand new Sandtroopers in a box from SSC (since they ship out in sets of three he said). He has one left, and will open it to send me a normal pauldron and I'll send him back the broken one. So I'm happy enough with that.

Forgot about the bare pin part, I snipped mine so a bit was left, but the strap was gone to allow better placement

gives it more weight, glad you got it sorted though!

moritfactor, can you please explain one more time, how you got the shoulder pauldron to sit down lower like that? :lecture

There is a thin strap that goes under the trooper's armpit, that woulda been there in real life probably. Problem is on SSC's, its too tight, so it forces the pauldron into a cone, which becomes rigid and then sticks up. I cut the strap, and despite it being essential irl to stay on, at this scale its totally unnecessary so it isn't missed.

I left a bit on each metal pin so it didn't look missing, but with it gone I can move the pauldron forward and down better

It also takes some futzing of the pauldron to get it to look right
