From the pictures, it looks like the 5 o'clock shadow is gone and they removed the wire in the scarf. Both are a plus so all I need is a body with decent joints.

I'll find out when mine gets here tomorrow.

The 5 o’clock shadow was the deal-killer for me on the original release, so this is a huge improvement in my book.

If the body is any better than the original I’ll be happy when this arrives within the next few days . The wire in the scarf and the hobo beard killed the original for me and both look to be corrected

Between the five doctors being reissued, which of the original issues are best? Worst? Ranking? Any with just too many problems and should hold for (hopefully and hopefully still coming) the much improved definitive issues? Also I noticed demand seems to have just about evened out on the secondary market. Tom's still going to be the winner in longterm collectability though right? If you could only choose one, he'd be the pick? How did the regular Capaldi turn out? I've seen the red coat limited version and he looks positively anemic.

The only one bug I have with any of the figures is The War Doctor. He is FAR TOO TALL and I had to put him on an HT Marty McFly body to get the right look. I shouldn't have had do that.

Other than that, I love them all. I can't rank them. 😢

Out of the entire line, I’ve only gotten the third Doctor, which is an amazing figure, and now the fourth, as he’s my favorite Doctor. I’d like a Capaldi but the first version has a mediocre sculpt, that anemic coloring and an ugly joint at the neck that can’t be hidden. Smith looks very much like a toy, and not a very expensive toy, IMO. Eccleston falls into the category of squint and pretend. Tennant wasn’t bad — perhaps the best of this lot — and, being the most popular modern Doctor, his figure might stay in some demand. Supply, though, may outstrip that demand.

TBH, I suspect these re-releases will largely sate the market for these. They’ve been available a good while and none has sold out. BC is also working on new versions, so that may temper interest. I won’t be surprised if this Tom re-release becomes the preferred version of this costume when people see the 5 o’clock shadow is gone. But I’d suggest buying any of them only because you want the figure and not as an investment.

The 8th Doctor figure has the same problem. It's the same size as the 4th.

Paul McGann is 5'9"
Tom Baker is 6'3"

With the exception of the 5 O'clock shadow being gone, it's a far inferior figure. The eyes are looking in different directions and his vest is missing a button. Oh yeah, and there are no buttons on the back of his coat.

The body has better ankles, but the knees suck.

If you have the original, it's an easy pass.

1st Doctor is great but the skin has a bit of a yellow tinge to it.

3rd is great, his skin tone is a tad less pink than than the others so he stands out. I would have preferred a different outfit and expression but that's just me. You have to pull out his cuff from the jacket yourself because Big Chief couldn't be bothered.

Original 4 has a bad paint job on the sculpt, and the expression makes him looknlike hes been crying. The scarf is awful as well. The smiling head they sold and a custom scarf makes it into a better figure.

8 is a decent sculpt but theybgave him a five o'clock shadow which stands out badly. Hes too tall as well.

9 has the worst sculpt. Its not terrible but very early 2000s Sideshow. The new one is just as bad but in different ways.

War Doctor is fantastic. Too tall though.

Series 4 10 in the blue suit has a good sculpt but the paint job lacks any detail. The coat is a bit thick.

11 in the purple suit is possibly their best of the older figures. Great paint job and tailoring, I really like him.

12 isn't bad, it's just not my preferred look for him. His look for his second and third seasons would have been preferred. Decent, about on par with 1, better than 8 and 4 but not as good as the rest.

13 is incredibly well done. Very life like, good proportions and they managed to capture Jodie's likeness well. The purple shirt she wears in the show is pink for the figure but otherwise she's up there with 3 as a big improvement over the others.

I would go with whatever Doctor is your favorite. There's are probably the only 1/6 Doctor figures we're going to get and I'm happy to own all of them, even with problems.

That sucks. It's possible you got a dud copy since the other one posted looked normal. Might ask about a return on it?

Looks like the coat is an even brighter red than before, which is a shame. Wonder how hard that would be to dye darker.

I already assumed the head would need repainted, so no surprise there.

Is the new figure taller, and is the red in the coat more saturated? The original outfit always looked a bit dusty to me, so I might prefer more saturation even if the color’s not screen accurate.

The placement of the waistcoat buttons is much better on the new one — if only all the buttons were there!

It is taller because the head doesn't sit properly on the neck and I was done messing with it.
This figure is a dud.

Thanks. Sorry to hear the disappointing verdict. Guess I’ll look at mine in hand before deciding whether to keep it.

I think it was pixeltwin who did that to theirs a long time ago. I wrote down the directions:

1 packet of Dylon dark brown mixed with 1/2 packet of Dylon tulip red. Simmer for around half an hour. Buttons may come off, but they can be glued back on
