Just wanted to share what a difference camera angle can make.

Here's a Sideshow figure...

Wide angle:

Telephoto:

You can see how the camera can make a head look bigger than it is. I look forward to photographing my head when I get it.




Regarding how it will look next to other figures: Monkey says that his Joker is about Sideshow scale. Here's how Sideshow figures looks on the same shelf with Hot Toys figures:

Not noticeable at all.



In the end, I think I still prefer HT scale, but it's not really a big difference.

Keep in mind as well that Kato is tailoring his outfit to the broader TT body, and his suit jackets and coats are more accurate in the shoulders. His coats have that nice squared look to the shoulders like real suit coats have. The HT coats are limp at the shoulder because they have no padding like they should. So Kato's stuff will be wider in the shoulders since the HT Joker coats were fit to the narrow shouldered TT body. So it should look right on with all Kato's gear, also I realized that I had used the V1 Joker body as scale reference, and that might have been why it was looking off too.

Here's a side by side of Commtech's Bobby C head and my sculpt.

The main differences are the hair line on mine is a tiny bit higher and Bobby's has the head cocked to the left a little and Commtech has the head tilted forward a bit. Other than that the size itself is identical.

Sorry to derail the thread, but I saw Brian Keene books on the shelf. I've read some of his, pretty good. Ever read Jack Kilborn?

Yeah I'm a big Keene fan, but I've not read any of Kilborn's writing. I'll have to check his stuff out.

Is there anything behind and under that purple coat? It looks so screen accuratly raised behind his neck there. Or is that just the epic HS throwing me off?

It looks awfully big in this pic, coming in as a complete outsider and catching the tail end of this convo i noticed it from the pics before i even read any of the comments.

It is a very nice sculpt though, too big for that body though really.

While guys with amazing talent, I still don't see any of these custom Jokers that are any better than HT's stuff really. Not getting the Joker obsession still. Not denying the amazing work though.

..but i envy you that you can have no interest in these, it would save me money if i could think like you!

lol I guess looking more like the actor doesn't mean much to some people. I'm the opposite where I need my sculpts to look a lot like my favorite characters. That being said, I don't think the DX is bad or anything either, just not as good.

God! That looks so good. I hope you'll still be making this next year. The likeness looks fantastic as is the hair.
