1/6 Hot Toy - MMS612 - Episode VI - ROTJ: Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike

Tempted to get a second Scout to turn into a Storm Commando/Shadow Scout. Should be relatively simple to paint the armour black, dye the cummerbund black etc.

I’ve thought about doing that, though with SSC Scouts at first but I sold them. More recently with the Remnant Scouts since they’ll probably be cheaper to get as people go buy the ROTJ version and forget about the Remnant.

I like Storm Commandos a lot. I have a couple of Hot Toys Shadow Stormtroopers so I figured they’d look good together. They’re low priority right now but we’ll see.

And then three days after I finish the customs Hot Toys will announce it as convention exclusive.

Highly recommend doing this, they look great. Here's a converted Mando version that I commissioned from a friend on IG a few months ago. Already have the ROTJ version in the works also, planning on displaying them both with the HT Shadowtrooper.

Thanks to Forces of Destiny, there's a new canon depiction of Stormtroopers being turned into "Troopers on the Half Shell" by the Ewoks.

It certainly doesn't look like it's their first rodeo. Leia tries to stop them from committing a war crime since this is post Battle of Endor and they're technically POWs but the Ewoks are very persistent.

All Palps had to do was send ONE of these guys down to Endor to take a seat on that Ewok throne and the whole fate of the galaxy would have been changed.

Guy I commissioned it from said he used acrylic paint from Citadel. Not too knowledgeable on this stuff myself but it seems to work really well.

Citadel, Vallejo, and Army Painter are all good. I personally use Citadel and Tamiya.

I used to paint miniatures with Citadel paints and I used a 1/6 MG34 to make a DLT-19. Gave that a bit of dry brushing.
Never painted the actual figure though. I'd think an airbrush would be the best option for the armour parts, to get a nice smooth coat.
Need to decide on glossy or matte black.

No worries. Yeah air brush is the way to go but you can use a spray can if you don’t have one.

Get a coat of black on, weather it if you want to, and then seal it with a can of clear.

I also started off with miniatures. 40k mostly. Same principle but bigger.

Received my Scout today, looks amazing in person only negative is the arm articulation is somewhat hindered by the padding.

I haven't and have not seen anyone say they had. Perhaps these and the Dark Troopers will take longer than the barrage of figures from the last couple months.
