I dunno, I think there’s some Iron Man nuts in Japan. I’ve seen pictures of collections where it’s wall-to-wall Hot Toys Iron Men. Hundreds of the things. It puts a weird pit in my stomach whenever I see them. :lol

I’m still shocked to see some people asking for more redos of specific Iron Men whenever Hot Toys announces another.

Put me down as the only one interested in this, I guess. I don't care about the movie, but I love cold blooded villains that look goofy as hell. Black Manta fits that niche perfectly.
You're not alone, I'm also digging this. I think I'm just low-key on it since I've been working on my own custom Manta.

I’m curious why they changed the helmet & tanks to silver this time around. I’m getting serious 1950s B movie sci-fi vibes from the suit now lol.
That's how it has always been. I don't think his suit was ever all black, except in the previous Aquaman film. Comics, cartoons, any other statues and figures, the helmet was silver. I was introduced to Manta in "The Challenge of the Superfriends." Even though his helmet wasn't silver there, it wasn't black either. It was more of a purple color.

Yeah, it’s actually one of the more faithful comic to screen adaptations now. Right up there with Spider-man I’d say.

I think it looks pretty great. I always liked Manta's design and have a fondness for this character going back to the old Super Friends cartoons. But the movie looks atrocious and I'm personally ready to completely move on from the Snyder-verse and all associated with it. I am very curious about what it costs for HT to make these things based on this kind of decision, as this figure seems destined to warm the figurative pegs. They ping-pong from the obvious winners that are guaranteed to turn a profit (various Iron Men, Batmen, Star Wars Storm Trooper variants) to things that are almost guaranteed to fail like the b-list villains from the Obi Wan show and this. Somehow lost in the shuffle are figures from classic films like Aliens, Rocky, and Terminator that are likely to be modest successes, and that used to be their bread and butter.

OK it's a faithful look that gives me 1950s B movie vibes lol. I may be in the minority but I just thought the all-black look made for a cooler, more badass Black Manta.

Looking at more of the details, I do wish that this guy came with some knives or blades, but I guess that'll be easy to find elsewhere.

Yeah if I was just looking for a 1/6 comic accurate Manta, I'd be all over this. They did a great job translating it to film design wise. Shame about the movie itself.

I would be lying if I said I don't like this.

This looks great and would be a lovely addition to any DC antagonist shelf.

So the lineup currently (and in the future) on my Suicide Squad shelf:

- Deadshot
- Harley
- Peacemaker
- Black Manta

I’ll likely pick this up, but the pants look pretty concerning and the lack of an unhelmeted portrait is disappointing. The movie wasn’t great, but it was watchable albeit somewhat wonky with Mamoa dialed up to an 11. I need to PO the Mars version. I like the A1 design, but this is more comic accurate and has a cool retro look.

Looks great and I do like how the movie managed to justify a more comic-accurate suit.
