I can miss that one. I'd rather have the Gerber. Maybe some of those little round grenades. The bad part is staring at the preview that looks suspiciously like fiber hair. Which may be an Artisan which means dealing with the h3ll of Side show's waiting room.
I really want this, but I really hope they just do a “regular” release.

Or maybe two versions, an Artisan with rooted hair and a Standard sculpted version.

But yeah I’m really lookin forward to getting this and in the meantime trying to figure out if I can mentally justify having two Buckys in my collection.

I am just curious, while I appreciate all the love HT has on the 10th anniversary of TWS, they certainly show no love for the 10th anniversary of GOTG? Also in 2024? Nor did they bothered with the 10th anniversary of The Avengers back in 2022 except for a DC Mark VII…

Think they are just targeting what they think might sell. The Cap Strike suit seems to be universally beloved - one of the few "non classic" suits (red/white/blue) people made statues of; then there's releasing an artisan SW and BW; then there's the ever-cool look of an assassin with a lot of weapons.

Plus in theory Bucky's easy to do; they've got molds for weapons, a sculpt already upgraded from the first release; they don't have to work that hard.

The original GOTG figs looked pretty good to me; tho I'm not a fan and don't own any of them. I guess they could upgrade Drax' body? and maybe a Gamora so the arms didn't have splitting problems (I don't know that that happened a lot).

Hot Toys works in mysterious ways.

I also would’ve loved GOTG 10th anniversary figures. They’ve yet to make that purple outfit version of Nebula too which is my favorite look for the character.

Unless you’re talking about another Mk VII that’s escaping me right now, MMS500 Mk VII was announced in 2018 and released end of 2019.

I think having Guardians Vol Three pre-orders to move in ‘23-‘24 would make them think twice about putting a bunch of Vol One 2.0 figures up for pre-order. But right now, a new Winter Soldier and new Captain America doesn’t cannibalize any other figures.

This is where I’m of the mindset that they (Disney included) shouldn’t do “flavor of the week” stuff as much. GOTG3 was good, but it doesn’t compare to the first film or even second, imo. But I get it, they want to push what’s new so we end up in this predicament.

Arguably, at the time of its release, Guardians of the Galaxy would have also been the ‘flavor of the week’, right? But now that the trilogy is wrapped I’m sure we’ll see some revisits of the first film. I know I’d definitely prefer Star-Lord in his classic red coat and equipped with the helmet over his Vol 3 costume. Gamora is a prime candidate to get the Artisan treatment, too. And a good Drax with rolling eyes and a seamless upper body like the latest Wolverine (shirtless version) figure would sell like hot cakes, no doubt.
