The gloves might not look great in real life nor on a doll.
I'll take fingerless gloves like Supreme Strange. I just want to see some more ornate extra bits to make him feel like a really grand sorcerer. I have this feeling that if I buy now, I'll regret it in 3 years when the new look is unveiled. I can do multiple alts. but if I buy this and then they come out with DS2 Strange + higher collar + trim + gloves + sash, it'll look too similar and I also won't be able to resist it so my DS2 figure will essentially be useless.
What is his "Space Costume"? And why is he even in space if he travels interdimensionally?
Aaron, the same guy who wrote the Thor stories with Gorr and JaneThor, took over the DS title in 2015/16 during the relaunch to promote the movie. He hates magic as a concept from what I gather, and thus he created a one-note science-worshipping and magic-hating bad guy who tried to exterminate all of magic. Also Strange was revealed to not eat regular food lest he puke. It was full of such awful retcons. Anyway, in order to defeat the Gorr 2.0 guy, he purged all magic from the Earth or some nonsense and was left powerless. Loki took over for a while blablabla and Strange left for space on a rocket Stark gave him to learn Space Magic. There a Dward taught him Space Magic Metallurgy and he started forging weapons and armour.
At some point all the Aaron things were retconned, his "Strange" was revealed to have been a one-off OC from an old Strange miniseries who was posing as him, and Strange is now more or less the same as his usual self. Well, technically he's dead right now but Clea will bring him by back by the end of her mini, so it doesn't really matter.
As for Aaron, he's been butchering the Avengers title for 3 or so years now. He's writing a story where an uber-edgelord Doom who's above all Dooms has gathered some psychos and they're massacring the multiverse. His big plan is to grab the Doom of every Earth/universe, mindbreak them and... preserve them before killing reality or something? Yeah dude, the sadistic psychos butchering worlds are "cliche" as you describe them, but your plan is so much more inspired... Honestly, I really dislike Aaron as a writer. He's like someone stuck as an edgy 14 YO.
I'd get these two. Not sure if Supreme will be made with so little screen time. But Iron Strange was made so you never know.
The second one is, "You've interrupted dinner and you are going to pay for that." Looks casual awesome.
I think Supreme Strange has good chances. Like I said, they've re-released the same Strange basically three times. Either he sells, or they just enjoy making him. They made President Loki and even Eternals figures. I don't see why a Strange variant wouldn't happen.
I wish they'd do the Coat Strange look, but it's honestly pretty unlikely they'll ever tackle it. I expect DS3 to feature a more comic accurate costume, and if a DS4 happens, for him to maybe just invert the colours or something (basically the red/black but with the clothing of the classic). But you never know.
