Everything on Earth is going up price wise. Literally essential items like food are overpriced so i’m not sure why people are shocked expensive plastic toys are going up too. No doubt the materials they use to make these figurines are going up too, they’ll need to cover cost’s somehow.

Not shocked, really, just not seeing the value lately. Many collectors are just gonna get priced out. Another 6 years when DS3 comes out is the figure gonna be $400? $500?

The price is quite outrageous but having said that there is a ton of new value in the figure - new head sculpt alone has huge after market value, a second sculpt, a new one costume, ten hands, fourteen accessories. Given the rising costs of everything, clothing has risen around 15% since that pandemic started, that retail price isn’t surprising. Deals will be found once the figure is released in 2025 and no one cares about this film and figure anymore.

I remember when Trevor Mandarin had fallen to the ~200s. Now he's risen back up to 250$ or so. But yeah, all these characters with multiple but similar costumes are bound to lose some value as the newer looks come out. Which is why I'm fine with waiting for the "perfect" look.

Man, I through the NWH Dr Strange was over $300 b/c of the small dio for the spell, but now that theory is out the window with this figure being $335 this is almost the price of the diecast MK5. Amazing looking figure, and not shocked at the price increase really, but like Chris said above, seeing the value is getting harder and harder these days with each new reveal

It's even worse if you're ordering from Australia- 10% ($35) tax, plus at least $50 shipping makes this US$420 - pass.

Seeing now they DIDN'T get the length of the eye of agamotto right which I find very annoying. I quite like how in the film it looks like it forms one full clasp piece with the cloak part. Looks like it's going to take putting a pin in the back to get it to sit higher. Sloppy stuff by HT

Remember, $335 is just the base price. Factoring in tax and shipping, and you're pretty close to $400. That's current day diecast Iron Man figure pricing. At the rate we're going, >$350 will be the new standard for non-diecast figures by 2024 or 2025.

I have not got a Doctor Strange yet. On one hand, the costume and head sculpt looks fantastic. On the other hand, Hot Toys is being lazy again and not adding as much accessories as possible. They had an incredible amount of spells to choose from but they only included 1 cool effect and a lazy magic...string? Where the hell are the other floating creature spells? The magical notes? IW Doctor Strange at least had all the main spells and a display backdrop to recreate the battle on Titan.

Also, an extra head sculpt to recreate a scene that lasted 5 seconds? HT, you got your priorities wrong.

That's cuz they just recycled it from the other strange figures. Why he still even wears that, what with the time stone not even being inside it anymore is the real mystery. I want that damn hs for my IW strange though real bad.

If I didn’t have the original Strange, I’d get this because it is wonderful. However I consider myself extremely lucky to own the OG, because unbelievably, I still think it remains the best one HT have done and the HS is still the definitive one imo.

But this comes mighty close though. No brainer if you don’t have a Strange and want one.

I really like that head sculpt, I think it rivals if not exceeds the original. And the dragon spell...wow.

The tunic looks excellent. I do hope the alternate head sculpt comes out looking great as well.

But...

The blue patch on the back looks goofy, they should have made the patch removable.

They made new boots with the tassels and all, and they still didn't make a split-cut boot? Really, Hot Toys?

They should have thrown in a few more hands and an extra spell or three at this price point.

The artefact actually has an unveiling / revealing spell - lets you see invisible things. He used it to spot the creature in MoM.

As someone else just said it still has powers, the time stone was just being held inside it. In MoM he used it to reveal gargantos who was hidden by magic and in no way home if you look close, it actually activated and lit up at one point when Strange was turning the mirror dimension upside down
