I just don’t see it as lazy, it’s a smart business decision to reuse previously built parts. Most industries do it. Could you imagine if they built everything new every time? The costs would be astronomical and you could double the timeframes.

I get that as well, but it’s the same parts they have been using since 2016? I get all the BWs have the same glocks over and over, but this is supposed to be a manifestation of her power, which is more or less formless and shapeless? At least HT can update the molds since they have been around for more than 5 years, perhaps?

But who am I kidding, HT reused the Terminator base for DC Mark VII…

Really impressive sculpt here, HT is really improving sculpted hair.

This is a great looking figure and I may end up with two Wandas in my collection (I have the Ultron one).

I would honestly love the bloody, bare foot, civies version too. That was a great look and scene.

I have a feeling the final release head sculpt will be slightly different even with J.C. Hong’s magic

After giving it some thought, I'll probably lay low first with the pre-orders. I'll wait for the final release and see the quality of the figure before spending a lot of money on it. The prices HT is charging is getting too high for my budget.

This is exactly my problem too. Before when deluxe prices were say around the $230-250 mark it was somewhat easy to get a figure to complete a line or whatever. But now at over $300 you really need to think a bit more, do I really need this ?

This is how I felt about jango, fett, with tax and shipping it was $323. I have the old medicom figure which looks ok with the helmet on but I bought the hot toys version anyway but really it should be $235, not $285 before tax and shipping.

Now even ordinary figures are $275 so its probably better to just skip a lot of the less important characters for me. Still waiting on that bespin han though....

When you factor shipping and taxes it gets even worse. If you're collecting a specific line or two it's easier to indulge a bit more, but when you've got wants from all over, you have to be very specific. In this instance I could get a version of Wanda that I enjoyed as a performance, but whose costume I don't love, in the middle of a packed year, and thus lock a spot in my yearly schedule. Who knows, maybe in the coming months we'll get Mr. Knight, some more Stranges and even a Dr. Fate. I don't want to go through the hassle of cancelling as long as these are still options.

I just can't commit if I'm not 90% sold on a figure. And I'm reading so many rumours about a Wanda solo from reliable sources, that I'm willing to take a chance. Picky as it is, I don't think the lighter hair works, and I need an even witchier costume. So I'll wait, and hope it's worth it.

The good thing about these HT lead times is that you’ll probably have at least seen a trailer showing the look for the next project by the time the previous figure releases.

Exactly. And 90% of the time when I'm not totally sold on a figure, and I leave it until later to order I never really come back to it.

However if I do, then it's important to me and therefore the right choice.

So torn here. Almost prefer the Wandavision costume + cape. But the colours look a lot blander on the Wandavision outfit.

Was on the fence and decided to wait for this version to decide for my ultimate Wanda. I think this might need to be it. Depending on deluxe price.

I think they're both really excellent pieces. The individual sculpts do a good job of showing her frame of mind/emotions in each respective show/movie, and whilst are very similar, have enough differences to justify a double dip for me - which I never do. My biggest gripe is that we can't have that second hair style on Wandavision version - I think that would look great, and more fitting to how she looked after the end fight in Wandavision.

Yep, it's definitely that headsculpt and hair which really makes me come back and think......I really do need this :)

Yeah, that's true. But I PO and put it all on installments just to keep track of everything, so I can't wait until then. It's why I have to really love the costume for me to pull the trigger, as I know that I won't be able to cancel easily. The upside of collecting based on the comics and not caring about the MCU versions specifically, is that I can wait until they get it "right" and not get swayed by other looks. The downside is that I'm very often disappointed by how they're handled.

Still, bottom line is, if I'm not 90% in love with a figure, I'm letting it go and waiting for the next version. If it's a one-off that I know I'll never get another chance at, I'll consider overlooking some flaws.

So the stand is just cardboard and cheap plastic… Well, there goes one temptation. It’s okay, I can wait for the next one in 2026…
