Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Well it is Aliens' 30th anniversary. They have the proto of Aliens Ripley done for two years. I feel like I have her already. Gimme a new Hicks.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Well I will have this feeling once I will keep her on my hand:) new hicks? Ok, but noway they pass from her in the announcement! I am not conforming with a photo! I want, need, the figure too:)

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Damn what an explosion of activity here ! Actually makes me happy to see more of us here cautiously optimistic about what's to come.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

It would be interesting though it they have secured the actors likeness rights in enough quantities to do the marine squad from Aliens. Heck, I'm hoping for a few of the Nostromo crew too.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

It'll probably be just the Ripleys. With a fancy display, some neat lighting. I'd love to be surprised though. HT are surely awware of the insane demand for new Marines. Then again, when have they given a **** lately?

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Just give me '79 Ripley and Big Chap re-release, and I'll die a happy man.

So, IF 86 Ripley and Powerloader get released wouldn't HT's resent history suggest that they would come separately? I mean The Doloran didn't come with Marty and the Batmobile didn't come with Batman. They could probably also make far more that way, keeping the price down on the Powerloader and up on Ripley... And everyone who buys PL will buy Ripley anyways...

Your comparison to Marty and Bats is a little off.

PL isn't nearly as big.

That is why I'm asking. Not concluding. I can see the difference in size, but I still think it's a valid question.

I think if anything it will be Ripley available as a single figure and a 2 pack of Ripley with Power Loader. They'll never try selling the PL on its own. Doesn't make any sense to sell it on its own. The Time Machine and batmobile are so cool they can be displayed without the figures and not look strange. That's not the case with the Power Loader.

Hollywood Collectibles seems to think otherwise... But I see your point there. They might do both - like the originals. Like you say...

That's cause HWC are making a 33" tall replica of the actual prop used for filming. The closest thing they offer to a figure from Aliens is a $6000 life size version. We just want a $300 power loader to stick our Ripley in.
