Why not reuse the Mandalorian Luke headsculpt? Not loving that part of this. Not a one off Luke I need so happy to avoid the Artisan trauma. I also think shorter hair will be problematic for artisan hair long term…

Rooted hair for anything shorter than neck length hair never looks right it seems.

But the sculpted hair also looks like a melted toupee, so it seems neither option looks good

Not too interested in the body, but...

Having not read Legends, this is probably one the goofiest looking figures to me. Gives me a random mashed up Halloween costume vibe.

Definitely looks like a sculpt that they will reuse for a ANH 2.0 version though. Just don't do Artisan for it if it's gonna look like this Hot Toys..

Re:
Dark Empire Luke is by far the most exciting release of this bunch. Honestly, even more exciting than Revan and Starkiller for me.
Always nice to have one more tangible element emphasizing the Disney canon was only ever one conceivable future. :wink1:

And while Dark Empire was never the greatest, it's still 100x better than what Disney pulled out their @$$
A parallel Leia in all white analogues version of this would be great

The Artisan is cool but not necessary so I'm OK with just the normal edition.

Looks like a cool concept of Luke. Nice to see them continuing with the Legends line. Got to say from a distance this looks like if Dylan Sprouse played Luke Skywalker 😅

Yeah, that's essentially what it was. The story featured Luke turning to the dark side, so the artist literally just slapped pieces of Vader's outfit on top of Luke's RotJ look.

Dark Empire takes place 10 years after the Battle of Yavin, so he should be older.
For the record (from the back of the book, (not sure if it's contradicted elsewhere?)...

Though agree this Luke could stand to look a bit more aged.

It'll be interesting if the hairpiece from the ANH figure will fit on this new head much like how the DX Mando/ESB Luke heads work with the ROTJ & Snowspeeder hairpieces

Yikes. That sculpt doesn't look like Mark at all. It doesn't even look like deep-fake Mark. It doesn't even look like Mark-lookalikes like Sebastian Stan or that guy from that Star Wars youtube channel.

I cannot believe someone at Hot Toys looked at this sculpt and thought, "yeah, this is it".

It's so off that I'm wondering if they couldn't get the likeness rights for Mark.
