I got the older Tobey HT and I'm getting this, but now the pressure is on a bit to get a Garfield Spidey just to have a nice little "evolution" set up on the shelves.

I'm always super opinion friendly, but I just don't get how people don't like the suit design. Looks so clean, modern, and sleek. What superhero costumes should aspire to be

Spider-Man's costume needs no modernization at all.

Good luck with that. Both of the Hot Toys Garfield Spidey figures had big issues. I don't even think I'll be able to get rid of my ASM2 Spidey. It isn't terribly bad off, but the infamous black stripes are definitely there if you get too close.

Anyway, some of you seem to be forgetting that Spidey has gone through quite a few suit changes over the course of everything. Nothing ever as drastic as the ASM1 suit or this one, but at least this one pays homage to the classic suit. I mean, come on guys... they changed Superman's outfit and ultimately I think everyone is okay with it now? It's just a little black trim here and there. You'll all be fine, lol.

Hmm, don't think I'll be able to resist getting this. I still think the Maguire suit has the coolest look and design, but unfortunately the old HT figure just doesn't do it enough justice.

Ordered the regular version just because I will never pose it with the hoodie or blazer. I loved this design from the first time I saw it in Civil War. Long wait is the only problem I have with this figure.

His costume is what it shld be in today's time. I personally feel it looks great. A little less black would have been better but the web etc is simple awesome! Also, if the IW version comes out to be better than the homecoming DX outfit version, then the DX option makes even more sense cause you can always display him with the jacket and hoodie And display the I.W version as regular!
Problem solved :)

Are 2 extra items of clothing and a helmet really worth an extra $20???

:cuckoo:

A custom jacket could cost between $20 to $100 from other companies in 1/6 Scale due to the difficulty of making the items so I think $20 for two AND a helmet is a bargain!

I agree with this in the sense that his classic costume is all he needs and a design that needs no improvement, but I do appreciate the MCU take on it and I'm happy to have it.

I'm of the same mindset. I love the classic Spidey outfit design but this MCU version works for me just fine. I actually really like the additional tech incorporated into this. It's somewhat refreshing and adds the MCU's touch to a character who's been on the big screen 5 times already (6 if you're including CW).

It's going to be a long wait but I'm in no rush, especially if it means HT can address any potential issues with the suit or improve whatever it is people will be pointing out wrong with it.

Hopped on the deluxe as soon as it went up on BBTS. Very excited to be adding one of my childhood favorite Marvel superheroes to my small collection!

I was willing to preorder because with the purchase of a pair of movie appropriate pants (khakis maybe) and body, I can come in with a Spidey and Peter Parker for less than $150 each - that's amazing (no pun intended) in today's market.

Besides a tad more muscle definition in the arms and the chest, he really doesn't need much altering. Maybe the spot between his eyes needs some tweaking.

Other than that... I'd honestly just prefer to not have this one fall apart in my hands or become defective in whatever new way possible.

I sort of wish Hot Toys would drop doing these deluxe editions and just offer one figure with an exclusive like they used to. The Vulture helmet feels like something that would have been packaged as an exclusive in the past but now they want to charge more for it. Granted you get the extra clothes too but I wouldn't use them.

I prefer it this way. The people who want more stuff pay more instead of forcing everyone to pay more.

Exactly. Me as well. And for us in Asia other than HK. If you want exclusive version, thats means $30 to $50 extra depending on the currency at that time.

I suppose, but who would go out of their way to make this custom jacket or hoodie? Pretty lame exclusives imo. But. . . That Vulture helmet is pretty nifty. Would sit in the box forever, though.

Finally pre-ordered the deluxe. Had a 25 gift card and bought one plus almost 10 in points, so almost 60 off! First spider-man.

I pre-ordered just the regular version at BBTS. Really did not need the other stuff. Just happy that both versions came with the tom holland head sculpt.
