I wanted to see how Chewie looked in BW, then I decided to look at an overexposed shot, double imaged with the BW to see what I'd get.





In truth, if Chewie was perfect, I probably wouldn't be having half as much fun with it as I am having.

He looks pretty good, did you darken the muzzle area? I remember the prototype it was more like that, but most figures have don't have it any darker than the light brown color.

That's looking really great, Matrix! The only thing I would say is to push away or tamp down the fur around the corner of his mouth. It looks way too thick. Chewie's fur is pretty thin and tight around his muzzle and mouth area.

Thanks guys,yeah i have to tweak it a little more around the mouth/jaw. And just a warning for those getting this...the hinged jaw barely opens so don't try and force it open too wide as you will damage/break the hinge..

Fantastic Matrix..despite it's flaws this is why I like this sculpt better than ANH version

Really nice pictures! I have no doubt I will really have allot of fun posing and futzing this character.

Great work, matrix. Now you have the 2 best Chewie's from their respective films.

Oh yeah, that was him.

I was thinking off the top of my head that it was james the cat who was the one that did that. Ok, no wonder matrix's doesn't look bad.

You really need to have this in hand, but here's what i did..
1.Remove neck plug and hinged jaw...both are held in place with glue but with a wee drop of boiling water pop out easy
2.Remove the upper mouth plate...again it's glued but can be removed easily enough
3.Sand down the top of the mouth plate so it sits further up
4.Cut in around the inside of fur/suit on the mouth plate so it doesn't bunch up when gluing it back in place
5.Sand down the plug on the lower jaw and realign it into place
6.Sand down the inside of the neck plug so that the mouth has more movement
7.Cut strands of darker fur from the lower legs and intertwine/glue them into the mustache
Finally when it's all back together break out the hair gel and get styling
