Actually I love the unique touch you have for your figures...I've done something similar just to my Classic Pred where I bought some bone trophies, ancient predator belt and sword and satchel bag for cheap. Not accurate to the Classic or jungle hunter but who cares. I also love my sideshow, and really like the prototype one as well. If I can find the ROTJ jet pack cheap I may do the same.

Hate to steal your idea...just got the Jet pack ordered off eBay. I'll message you if I have problems getting it on. It's as custom as I'll get. I don't want to get into the painting ect of my figures. I already have to learn alt about my own craft (drawing/illustration).

The idea is for anyone who is interested! I personally think it looks great on the SS. You'll be happy. I used a paperclip and needle nose pliers. If you have some wire the same thickness it might be better as the paparclip might break if bent to much!!

Anybody try HT's vest on Sideshow's figure? Sacrilege, I know, but that's the one thing I would want to fix on my Sideshow Fett.

I haven't seen any attempts yet but I was going to try when mine arrives.
I'm interested to see your results. I don't have a Boba yet but would like to, and would consider grabbing an extra pair of hands for that project. I did a similar thing to my 3Z Ned Stark's hands to, coincidentally, remove that horrid sticky black wash on them and it made a world of difference.

Here's my review of the HT Boba Fett. I dunno, maybe I've been spoiled with so many other great figures, but I wasnt as wowed with this figure as I thought I'd be. I think the Sideshow figure still holds up pretty well in comparison. Still, a nice paint app and underlying body are nice.

Bo Shrek:

Accuracy aside, that HT backpack looks really good with the elevated green of the SSC Boba.

Reminds me of the old Kenner 12" Boba Fett from 1979, but in a good way! I think he had that multi-coloured jet pack too*, but was released as a new ESB character.

* I could be wrong, as I'm in my mid 40's now and my memories from those days are a bit off. ;-)

Just did a Google search and I was right: KENNER ORIGINAL BOBA 1979.jpg

That's a huge thumbs up from me, Bo Shrek - looks great. I think I will go down that route too - I really like it.
I may even go further and get a set of maroon ROTJ HT gaultlets to finish the 12" Kenner look.

Makes me wonder how Kenner was privy to an ROTJ colour scheme back in 1979 though... perhaps the more colourful version was what Lucasfilm ultimately settled on, after they'd shot ESB during late 1978 - early 1979?

The old Kenner 12" was based on the pre-production #2 suit. It had a lot of stuff that eventually ended up on the ROTJ suit, including the multi-coloured pack. The figures were released before ESB, and used colour schemes and card art of pre-production suits before the colour scheme of the ESB suit was finalized.

I'm currently working on my own mythos Fett using the pre-pro 2 suit as a base, and adding other bits and bobs from the other suits I like such as the Jaig eyes from pre-pro 1.

Thanks for all the extra information, Alice. You're obviously a Fett afficionado. Really interesting stuff!
I always wonder how the costume designs get finalized - and why they get altered, so once again - thank you.

Best of luck with your Mythos Fett - sounds like a labour of love. Those Jaig eyes were quite something.

That's a great Kenner image next to mine! Perfect angle. Thanks for your comments! I think you'll be happy picking up just the pack. It does elevate the SS. I like the contrast of the SS more than the HT. The HT is much darker the greens and reds blending into each other. One of the reasons it did t WOW me! TBH I have the 3 3/4 Fett figures and some packs were multi coloured others green I don't think i put it together that they were from different movies until in my late thirties!

Just putting it out there but one could also put one of two Jango Fett jet packs on the sideshow boba. Wonder what that would look like. I am also on the fence about Jango tho. I really like the movie suit...but is it worth the money??? It's either Jango, chewbacca or I save big time for the Delorean...I don't know

Good review, Khai!

Does everyone's Fett have the "crooked" chest plate on his left side? No way to fix this, huh? Can't just pry it off if its just glued???

Some folks are telling me the crookedness is accurate to the movie! I dunno, most scenes that I see of him in the bluray, the armour seems mostly symmetrical. The misalignments are not anything like what I've seen on the figure. Maybe it's just my OCD, but that's what draws my attention every time lol!!

Not sure what glue should be used. I'd hate to pry those off and do some damage in the process. I'm never any good at modding figures that way lol

Yeah, the early version of Fett they used for the Kenner had the brown gloves and red/yellow gauntlets that the Kenner figure reproduced. That 12" Kenner Fett is still my all-time fave 1/6 figure.:clap

Great review, khai - but every time you said "I don't see a lot of difference between the HT and SSC" I kept thinking "Wow, that HT Fett looks incredible there, night and day next to the SSC.":lol I think it's the wonky chest armor/vest and very off green paint they used that are always the first things that jump out at me about the SSC.

In your video (maybe the it's lighting) the HT Fett almost looks like a frame grab from ROTJ.

But maybe it's something about the in-hand experience of the HT fig, because quite a few people seem to have had a "meh" reaction to it in-hand, and it is inaccurate in a number of ways.

Though I just built a 1/6 Fett (used HT helmet) and I saw first hand how really difficult it is to get Fett looking right in 1/6. There's so many layers and yet he's quite thin - three belts piled up next to armor, three layers of fabric on his upper body plus armor. Doing it as a mass-produced figure would have to have been a nightmare.

My Fett on display in my new Detolf. Having one's figures positioned in a nice display with cool lighting makes such a difference!

For me the worst things about the Sideshow figure include the underlying body which is pretty bad, and also the lack of weathering. But overall I dont actually mind the colour of the armour. It might be a shade too bright, but it seems pretty accurate to ESB. On most displays, I think the Sideshow Boba still looks pretty nice.

You're right in that I wasnt very wowed with the HT Boba. Could be that we've been spoiled by a lot of great figures, and the fact I've had the Sideshow one for a while. In the end, it's a nice addition to the HT Star Wars line, and the underlying body is a huge improvement. Good to have him in the collection, but I wouldnt rank it up there with my HT favourites (such as DX06 Jack Sparrow, DX13 T800, Battle Damaged Robocop, Chewbacca etc).

I just edited lighting.

What do you guys think? it feels more accurate to me...

haha, yes!

I mean, the accuraccy I was talking about is the body and head proportions and shape of the helmet.

Let me compare...
