Having Boba Fett on order I wanted to display him with a Han in carbonite so I recently purchased the Hasbro 12” version with the intent of re-working it to make it more accurate. First impressions…what a POC, yikes! Han’s head and feet are extremely large and the carbonite block/mechanism is too thick (tall), warped, and has texture that’s was put there for the sake of it. As a model builder it’ll be a challenge, but I’m gonna give it a go and provide pics along the way under its own thread, once I have something to show. Has any SSFreak modified/re-worked the 12” Hasbro example with success? My first thoughts are to cut out the Han and carbonite section and re-build the block mechanism, including more accurate side panels, but I want to give it more thought before making the first cut.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Tinman. I've got one too but never messed with it. There may be a thread for reworking this but I haven't looked for it.

Awesome I just got my 2 day warehouse notice! :slap

Still can't wait to get him but I'm not sure why they just now sent my notice.

You didn't get the 2 week notice a couple weeks ago? I did.

BTW, I'm now considering canceling mine, simply because I really just collect the Original 12 and Droids. It was an impulse order :lol I've been told that you can call Sideshow and they will transfer an NRD to another order. Is this true??

I heard you can only do that once.

They didn't send me that notice when everyone else got theirs. I did order just that week but I just assumed they were only getting a smaller first batch in. I did the same thing with the Snowtroopers but they sent me a 2 week notice the day after I ordered. I was ready to wait a little longer with Leia and Ant Man charging but the wallet will just have to take the full assault now. :lol

Yea you can only do that once. I did it last year with the QS Boba. Canceled and moved payments over to Han and Chewie. They said it was a one time deal.

Unfortunately, I had to use up my one-time NRD on the Cap Winter Soldier 2-pack, which I only cancelled because the production version was so far removed from the prototype. But, c'est la vie. If at all possible, I don't pre-order from SSC anymore. The only ones I currently have are exclusive Leia and this figure, the latter only because I had a coupon code.

Didn't know that...I guess I gave up the $30 NRD when I cancelled the Mondo Iron Giant way back when. :slap

Disappointed to see they used the same pain in the butt jetpack attachment system that Sideshow did for all their Fetts. At least they added a magnet at the bottom.

Surprised the blaster doesn't come with a strap/sling. None of the pics/reviews show the backpack rocket coming out or the fins out.

Magnets would have been great. They work so well on the Snowtroopers and Jakku stormie. Not sure why they didn't go that route here.

If you're talking about the TFA one, I don't think the Snowtrooper has magnets. At least it's not the Sandtrooper system for Fett, that's the worst.

Sorry you are right. It's a little slot that it pops into. That would have worked great here too because it's so easy to pop on and off.

Woo-boy.

Okay...I'm crazy....just watched Opt's video and now I'm wondering if I should've ordered this. It looks...okay, but quite a few things were jumping out at me here...the tiny, soft looking hands, the perfectly clean jumpsuit beneath that "scratched up" (and highly detailed) armor, the ill-fitting gear...among other things.

I just hope it's the video...I know this figure will require some good futzing to get it in perfect "display-ready" shape (it looks pretty "plopped on the stand" here)...but this initial close view is not making me go "wow". Been a while since I was struck with "buyer's remorse" before I got the figure...really hope this looks good...it's Hot Toys doing Boba Fett...I wanted my socks blown off. We'll see....

Watch the DfuzeNL review. He's got his looking primo. As for Opt's video I couldn't see the figure because he had a dying bird flopping around in the foreground.

That's the guy.
I like his reviews too. I never subscribed to his channel, but came across his reviews while searching for specific figures. I might subscribe, now that I think about it. He has some different figure reviews and he does some amazing close shots of the facesculpt and other parts of the figure.

I know a lot of people hate Sean Long, but I like his reviews cause they are short and he does review a lot of figures (I like it just to see the figures, he almost never has any criticism to any figure) and he seems like a nice person.

I also like shartimus and Anthonyscustoms (they are my favorites general reviewers, quite critical on their reviews, always point the good and bad parts of the figure) but Anthony hardly ever reviews sixth scale figures (a lot of Figma, which I also collect).

But by far, my favorite sixth scale reviewer is Xenom0rph (also with a critical point of view; with Shartimus and Anthony, my three overall favorite reviewers). I think his reviews are excellent.

Edit: I also like two smaller channel reviewers, called ScifitoysAustralia (really short, 2-3 minute reviews, excellent to get a feeling of a figure) and John Carlos McMaster (a lot of Pop Funko, but has a good number of sixth scale too).
Oh yeah, the close ups are awesome! I am primarily a 1/6 figure collector now, and he definitely doesn't do nearly as much as the likes of optobotomus and shartimusprime. I just think Anthonyscustoms is waaaay to negative/critical. Makes me wonder why they buy anything in the first place. It just amazes me at times because I'm an artist/OCD/perfectionist..so at times I buy multiples of the same figure or parts from Toy Anxiety. I haven't heard of Xenom0rph and the others. I'll check them out right away.

Thanks for the hheads up on that review, riblets....yes, it's looking a lot better there. Holding on to that order.

Happy to get notice that Fett is charging on Friday...looks like he's gonna beat Ant-Man to my display case.

I've waited all this time for my favorite SW character and now I'm having doubts. I see pics of his helmet being narrow and others more wider. Even YouTube videos can look different at times :impatient:

I think that the neck looks too short, but that could be an easy mod.

I have to wait till I have the figure on hand to know how I will feel about the body. May swap it for a thinner one, but it is important to know how does the innes body look and how tall the boots are.

I understand what you say about the helmet too, but I think a bit longer neck and it may help.

Ready for SS to take my money !!!! The one thing that I'm surprised about and I am sure I will get panned but when SS released the proto Fett 2 years ago they had a really good figure to base a ROTJ Fett from with a few tweaks and paint changes SS would have put out a really good figure. In any case I am happy to own the HT version which will be my last Fett figure.
