I sanded down the lower eyelid, smoothed it back out with a couple drops of CA glue, sanded again. It was slow methodical work in such a small area. I think start to finish including assembling the figure was 2 hours. Then it was all layers of paint work after that.

When painting blood I use 4 colors all from Tamiya: Red, Clear Red, Clear Blue, Black. The clear blue is very good for subtle tinting of the red to various purples, and a drop of black will always get it that deep red if you need it. The Clear Red and Blue choices help keep it looking translucent when applied.

In the information booklet that comes with this figure, they mention that if you unzip the back of the costume, there is a good chance it will not zip back up again. Unless other freaks on this board know some zipper secrets

I hate Hot Toy zips. I actually gave up trying to display Star-Lord with a loose jacket.

I just re-watched this film last night. Ragnarok gets better every time I see it. I am not usually a stickler for film accuracy on Hot Toys figures, but the design of Hela is so good, I just wish this figure duplicated the color of her cape and the color/texture of the linework on her outfit. Fantastic sculpt, no doubt, and but I just wish the colors were as accurate as the Star Wars Royal Guard.

I’m patiently waiting for someone to make a top notch helmetless sculpt. I’m not one for bootlegs but I’d imagine shaving off the horns you’d be able to recast the sculpt

Agreed. I didn’t love it first time, thought it was entertaining but wasnt loving it. 4 rewatches later and i love it now. In my top 3 from Marvel for sure.

Was planning on cancelling this but hesitating because I don't want to get a bad rep/get blackballed from the retailer.
Was going to see if anyone here wanted to take over the pre-order, but then I got curious and looked to see what the reactions were for people who had it in hand already.

Then I saw the pics people were taking with it.

I don't have any other Thor figs, liked the movie OK (but loved Blanchett in the role), and primarily dug the over-the-top source faithful costume design.

It's a tough call for me as my finances have tightened up lately, but dammit...this does look pretty sweet. I do wish they had made it full mask + a hair down sculpt.
The half & half compromise is unfortunate to me. Other than that, it seems like one of the cooler figures from the MCU.

Keep her, worst case you get her and someone will buy it off you. I feel like this may end selling out up going up in price at some point.

[emoji848] after seeing those pics, I don’t think it looks bad at all; but I think it looks better with the horns; those pics convinced me HT did the right thing.

It looks cool, but without the horns it just looks like some....chick. The horns really give her and her look real presence and as a figure it just stands out more.

Still would have been nice to have the option to change her look with two heads but the horns do give a much better shelf presence.

I like that, hair line should be a bit further up, might be what’s throwing if off. Someone will nail it. HT made the right call in the end with the more iconic look
