Thanks guys. I remember reading the shelves were rated for 13 pounds, but I've seen pictures of displays with four or five figures on a shelf, which has to be more than 13 pounds. I'm going to take your experience over the manufacturer's recommendation, especially since 13 pounds seems awfully light for a quarter-inch-thick sheet of glass.

Finally got War Machine yesterday, and might I say that he looks fan-freaking-tastic next to the Mark 43! My only concern is the weight of two diecast figures being too much for one shelf. For all you Detolf-ers out there, how much weight can you comfortably put on one shelf?

I think its safe.

I don't have any AoU figs yet, but I might get some blank oval stands for them. Not too crazy about the ones they come with. They look like they're topped with cheap stickers

Yea the manufacturer rec on the IKEA products is notorious for being very light, probably just to cover themselves in the event of a rare collapse. There's a lot of info on this in the 'How to display you collectible' section somewhere as I recall someone loading up with the glass shelves of 30-50 lbs of free weights and it held fine for a long time. :lol I have a single IKEA Besta cube supporting one of my Detolfs full of figs that weighs 110-120 lbs and that was rated to hold thirty or so pounds. Been fine for over a year with no signs of bowing or cracking.

That's awesome! It makes sense why IKEA would have such a high factor of safety. Thanks for the info! Especially the part about the free weights. That really cracked me up. :lol

I wouldn't worry. ;)

This has GOT to be my next purchase; I thought having the Iron Patriot would be enough...but I don't think so!

Yeah, I wouldn't worry. I have War Machine Mk I & II, Iron Patriot, and Hulk on one shelf and they're fine. I've had PF's on shelves as well and there's never been any problems. I'd be comfortable putting up to 20lbs.

I'll have mine when I save a couple hundred $...but the boxes are already killing me with the six figures I have, they take up lots of space! Is anyone out there getting rid of the boxes due to space limitations?

Some people just toss em others sell them.

You only have six? Wait till you get to where me and YP are at with 20+ in just Iron Man :rotfl

I keep all my unused accessories in the boxes. A while back I bought some totes to put all the boxes in and stuck them all downstairs. My wife started complaining about the space they took up lol. I've thought about getting some sort of tackle box for all the extra sculpts and accessories, just haven't done it yet.

That's what I ended up doing. Picked up clear craft style boxes from Michael's and Plano water proof tackle boxes from Walmart to hold accessories. Very old pic:

Yeah that's exactly what I had in mind. Might have to go there and check prices, maybe I'll get lucky and they will be on the weekly deal.

You've got a lot of IM parts, lol. Looks like Hulk hands up top too.
