Well, that kind of sucks...... New T-800 must be on way more sauce then the 7x Mr Olympia

It's a bit of a bummer that I will have to get a Genysis version to have an endo representation in the collection. Like Fant4stic, I don't want to support that movie in any way, DVD, cable or merchandise. But this is the best we can do for now. Maybe HT or someone will eventually make a proper T1/T2 endo in diecast.

What no-neck endo is that?

Not getting this endo is guaranteeing that we won't get any more Terminator figures from HT. I doubt that they have plans for future terminator figures anyway, but this is the final nail in the coffin.

It feels like a lot of technical work just to throw away though? Surely it'd be pretty easy for them to make a normal T-800 figure just by using the same basic mechanics and resculpting the individual parts?

Are you referring to a T1/T2 endo? This endoskeleton is almost an entirely different design, I don't think anything could be re used.

I mean purely RnD wise, not I guess parts. Or is this figure not doing anything new that the previous attempt didn't?

Darn it he's way too big! Oh well, that totally rules out getting one for me since I was originally planning to have him close to the DX13. He would look awkward being so out of scale. :(

They have a complete 1/6 T1 endo prototype on the shelf. Sure they could squander all that R&D because this T:G endo doesn't perform well, but give HT some credit. They know T:G wasn't well received but released this endo anyway. They also know T1/T2 are timeless classics that will always have a built-in fanbase, just like the OT Star Wars. I believe they released this TG endo first to coincide with release of the movie, but unfortunately for them, the project took too long and the movie tanked. But with every good company, they take their lumps with their triumphs. Believe me, HT does not want to sacrifice their classic/cult movie fanbase. We will see the T1 endo one day. Just a question of when.
