Was hoping to get this deluxe for about $220 but that seems to be an impossible task now, even open box.

I just picked up the specialist deluxe and regular at popcultcha $277 and $249 respectively, better than what I can get on eBay at this point and they are reliable.

got the deluxe via BBTS! site said they had 4 then none then randomly back to 4 then none lol. jumped when i saw it back instock last night.

REALLY would like that short blaster rifle, if any freaks see one for sale pls shout.

Wanted another regular DT but backed out when Popcultcha had that sale when everyone picked up Snowspeeder Luke. Coulda had him for about $205 shipped + some exchange rate fees or something... oh well. I’ll definitely pick another up when their boss man Krennic is released. *cough Hot Toys cough cough*

Nice little treat was waiting at my door after passing my last check ride & final flight in the Kiowa. So today has been a pretty good day.
Also snagged one of cocos add-on bases to be able to have a plaque with the custom base. Loved the diorama base, but I'm just a sucker for plaques so this was a good compromise. I still want that short rifle though. It just screams SF to me.

I got the deluxe version of this figure yesterday, and am blown away at the detail. The subtle weathering on the armor is fantastic, and the elbow and knee joints are super well done. One thing I don't like about this figure is that awkward triple shoulder pouch, but that was easily left in the box. This is only my second trooper, after the OT double pack; I have purposely stayed away from troop building, but this figure is such a great counterpoint to the original troopers, I could not resist and am so glad I did. He is HUGE compared to one of the OT troopers!

I wonder how these would look on a regular body, if that's even possible?

I mean, in the movie they weren't huge by any stretch, looked average height in every shot. the "giant" thing seems to be a fantasy of the "Visual Dictionaries" and books.

those death troopers are trully giants in this celebreation cast event

and you were right, those figure heads kinda small compare to actual size of actual death trooper, especially in this vid.

guess I will have have closer look at it this sunday when finally shipped.

The heads aren't meant to be big enough to fit a real head inside, they are throwbacks to the undead troopers and have undergone surgical procedures to make them beyond human. Obviously in the video above the proportions look more standard because there is a real person inside

There was a real person inside in the film as well.

The actors that are actually credited as Death Troopers are between 6' and 6'5. That doesn't seem "average".

Unless you're talking about the ones on Rebels, yeah, they're shorter, but they're also female and speak English, so they're kind of all of the page from media to media.

I believe that was the original intention during preproduction and that is how HT designed them, but when it came to what we saw in the movie, the filmmakers decided to just leave them as is. Which I think looks better to give them normal sized heads and helmets. For easy to find replacements, unfortunately the Hasbro titanium helmet is just way too big to use, and the Hasbro 12"figure is just too small. Maybe there's another option out there that I missed?

Guys, watch the movie -- which I just did two days ago -- the Death Troopers are pretty normal size, fine maybe 6 feet or so, but not HT size. I don't go by "intent" but by what I see in the film.

Krennic's short, shouldn't they be much taller? Tarkin would tower over these guards since he towers over Krennic.

No that is a concept discussed in the art of book, doesnt mean thats what ended up happening by the time the script came and movie was shot

:dunno in my version of this made up story about aliens in space I think their original concept is far cooler :lol

I agree, I like the idea. They could still be lobotomized zombies inside there but I personally prefer the larger helmets seen in the movie to the weird smaller heads
