That's why I think these might look better on regular sized bodies and not the elongated ones they come on. Armor may be too long to make it work though.

I may be wrong but at a glance they seem like regular bodies with longer arms and legs (from the elbow and knees down). And yes the armor on those parts are extra long. Their helmets are slimmer to the Stormtroopers too which makes them appear “too small”.

Guys, watch the movie -- which I just did two days ago -- the Death Troopers are pretty normal size, fine maybe 6 feet or so, but not HT size. I don't go by "intent" but by what I see in the film.

Krennic's short, shouldn't they be much taller? Tarkin would tower over these guards since he towers over Krennic.

Where do you get this Krennic is short? The actor who plays Krennic is like 5'11 or 6'0. Theres plenty of real life pics with him and shorter people all over the net and he towers over them, imdb actually has him at 5'11. Mads is also around the 6' mark. The actors who play the DTs are all 6' to 6'5, this isn't from a Star Wars book, this is their actual heights in reality. My HT DT Specialist is 12.75 inches on the dot (between 6'3 and 6'4 derp), thats pretty much right where it should be, you want to have the shortest DT from the movie, then do some mods. The math adds up, get your eyes checked.

Oh wait, in that 3rd pic, Mendelsohn is much shorter, perspective must be a ***** for some people. :lol

Calm down, take your meds.

Krennic seems pretty short to Tarkin (as I said)

Krennic seems far from the tallest guy in the room

Costumes showing the DTs aren't giants

Having watched the movie, Krennic never stands above anyone. He's presented as shorter or the same height as his subordinates. Now Tarkin strikes me as tall compared to Krennic. But Krennic's DTs never struck me as particularly tall in any of the shots with him. I imagined them about 6 feet -- like a regular stormtrooper judging by their height presented in the movie.

Get my eyes checked, really?

Someone might not have told you this, but that 6'5 Tarkin was CGI, not the actual dead 6' actor, so your assumption is that hes short based on a CGI figure that was towering over everyone? You just watched R1? I haven't seen it in months, but I can remember oddly tall Tarkin, I didn't assume everyone was short. :lol
Theres also a great scene right at the beginning of the movie when they're eye to eye, you can see that Krennic and Mads are both good sized men.

And your last pic shows exactly why the 12.75" DT is perfect sized. A few inches taller than Krennic. You're just wailing about stupid angle shots and CGI elements that have nothing to do with the relation of this figures size, which again is perfect since the actors were 6' to 6'5. I mean I get the complaints of helmet looking too narrow and such, but most of the crap you post is based off a CGI character it seems. :clap

Look, I'm only going by what I saw in the movie -- not the books or toys or other information. I've given you pictures why I have the impression I do.

Should I not go by Tarkin's established height? Did they decide to make him a giant in this movie too? Didn't know that.

I never trust IMDB heights -- they are usually 2 inches taller at least. Besides, their actually height has nothing to do with how tall they are being presented in the movie (hence your point about Tarkin's height, right?)

Wailing about stupid angles...? "Crap" I posted? You mean actual stills and props? I'm just trying to support my argument. What is your problem tonight?

My problem? I just seriously thought you were trolling. :lol

I have no idea why Tarkin's CGI was so big in the movie, but my guess is, the actor that did the stand in and played Tarkin was 6'4, I'm guessing no one was **** enough to say he needed shrunk, so we ended up with 6'4 Tarkin. Actor wise, if you could have actually paired Mendelsohn and Cushing on screen, I'd say height and frame they should be fairly identical.

No, I'm not trolling.

Well, that whole thing with Tarkin made me think Krennic was 5'9" or 5'10"... you see my dilemma. Besides, if Tarkin is supposed to be 6'5" in RO, and so are the DTs, I just never saw a shot with them as tall as Tarkin in the movie.

Anyway, I just checked and in Wookipedia (not that I always trust it), Krennic is listed as 1.8 meters or 5'9" in height. So maybe my assumption has merit.

Never trust a Wookie... wait thats not the right saying. :lol

Anyhow, 1.8 meters is not 5'9, its 5'11. It is 5.9 feet, which is just a hair under 6'.

Ben Mendelsohn is 5'11", so he'd be six foot or so in his imperial boots. He certainly isn't short.

Gareth Edwards had this to say on the subject: ""So we thought, Let's try to find some six (to) seven foot tall people who are really thin and try to figure out a new Stormtrooper that can actually hit its target with guns. And they became, eventually, the Death Troopers."

The main, known Death Troopers in the film were played by Victor Botha, who is 6'5", George Vere, who is 6'4", and James Mitchell, also 6'4". You'd have to add an inch or two to each for boots and helmets to get their Death Trooper heights though, I'd imagine. Regardless, around 6'5" seems like a reasonable average to go by.

Oh, and Guy Henry, who acted as CGI stand in and voice actor for digital Tarkin is just under 6'4" himself, whereas the real Peter Cushing was actually about the same height as Mendelsohn, so that's why you get a Tarkin that towers over Krennic, because they clearly weren't too concerned about height and never made any kind of accommodation for the new Tarkin being much taller than the original in Rogue One.

Not that any of it really matters anyway, of course... :lol

All this conversation has done is make me pissed Krennic hasn't been announced. :lol

I'm going to find this very distracting now when watching RO in the future.

I did think Tarkin's height was to make Vader seem even taller... but Vader's height is a whole other thing. :D

un-boxed my deluxe last night, smitten! so impressed, looks like a real dude shrunk down. do wish i had that short blaster but enjoying the bigger longer one more than i thought i would.
:clap

gonna try and stick to empire figs now, fully armored or at least helmet on. looks so real. dont let lack of krennic stop you, this is so good inhand.

the top of removable dome kinda lifted up on the right side makin a gap, was cuz the range finder was pushed in too far on other side so pried that out/back abit and gap isnt as noticeable much smaller, pushed range finder back flush.

plottin on another! want one sans extra gear but unsure i want another with range finder on display, the reg with non range head would be ideal. also kinda want the thrawn ss for them to flank as place holder for krennic.

edit-oooo just noticed you can raise site on end of blaster rifle!

I have a DT specialist deluxe and a regular DT (for the short blaster) on their way from popcultcha, bought in anticipation of a Krennic. I figured I buy now, because if a Krennic is ever announced, it'll be a madhouse finding the DT's.
