It clearly feels like a month long event when a figure is shipped to you around that period and you keep refreshing your tracking page every single day only to have this message displayed: "China International Airport: Parcel waiting for customs clearance".

I'm kind of on the fence now about keeping this preorder. The Death Troopers were best when they were a simple matching squad with Krennic. Having a 'leader' really makes no sense.

They look cool but I am passing on these guys. The main characters are my focus, have enough black and white. The tank commander had one of the coolest looks of the new troopers but you don't get to see a whole lot of it.

Agree with you about their role in the film. Different than the marketing material portrayed and not a "universal" Imperial squad really.

I thought being "Death Troopers" that they would be a cut above the run of the mill Stormtrooper grunts. Turns out they were just as dispensable as the poor old hapless stormies.

Anyone here happy with the Death Troopers after seeing the film? To me they didn't impress much, tall dudes who're more accurate shooters than Stormtroopers and with more robotic voice changers, but that's about it.

Were you expecting much more? They look cool so I don't care.

I actually love the weird noises they made. Reminded me of a combination of the long snouted spy guy that brings the Empire to the Falcon in ANH and a Probe Droid. Definitely added to their ominous presence.

They were ok. At least they were a lot more accurate than stormtroopers.

Their chatter was exactly the same like soldiers from Half-Life. Anyone old enough to remember?

I was hoping they would do more but I was pleased they didn't do less. They were present enough for me. And I do love their weird garbled chatter. Makes them like the LOTR 'Nine'... creepy.

Worth the purchase more than most troopers.


The real question is which one. They only dawned their rank pauldron and extra gear at the end I believe. Most of the time they were stripped down and all equal. I like them that way best.

Anyone notice if they always had their rangefinder or if that came on later too?

Some in the beginning had their pauldrons, and there was a close up shot of one when they were searching for little Jyn that had a rangefinder.

If I remember correctly the one that picked up the stormtrooper doll had a pauldron. Let me know if I'm incorrect. I'm jealous you're seeing it shortly!
