I’ve been waiting 10 years now for HT to release or even reveal their Batman Returns Penguin but two year waits are ridiculous.

Yeah it can be awfully hard to keep that same interest and excitement for a figure after such a long wait.
In a way it’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes it helps me realize that some of these figures I don’t want as much as I initially think.

It is annoying though when there’s something that I’m really anticipating and it takes ages to get it.

Estimated release date is Q2 2023? It's more like latter Q2/early Q3 2023 honestly considering how things are going right now.

Still debating of I want to pre-order it now or wait til Q3 of 2022 and then do it (providing that I don't do anything stupid to make me physically buried in the ground two meters/six feet below or cremated into ashes).

Yeah, that’s one thing that’s gotten to be old with Hot Toys. Love their figures, but it sucks that for most of them you know you’re going to be in for a wait of a year minimum, if not longer in many cases.

I feel like unless they already have some sort of a face sculpt or when they do figures for characters they have molds or parts for already (clones/stormtroopers, future Mandalorians, possible future PT Jedi, other Boba Fetts, Vaders, etc) we'll be waiting for more than a year for those pieces.

The company is so damn backed up as it is.

Given HT recent form of releasing Mandalorian and Spidey stuff months ahead of schedule I wouldn't be surprised to this figure in 2022.

What else can we say..HT is the one that set the two year date ..out of our hands :dunno
Hot Toys has good products no question, but Howard as a businessman is pretty average imo. They have failed to scale to their success big time.

I remember it was always a year or so for figures. Now 2 years is the normal. It's ridiculous. In the end it comes down to too much on their plate, be that in development, production or wherever which has lead to a huge backlog. They need to expand and scale accordingly. (it should have happened back with all those Marvel figures).

Pushing this backlog in front of them won't go away any time soon. They should hire some talent on short term contracts to get on top of the backlog and get back to some sort of normality.

Howard's in a good spot if you ask me. A good spot for his company but not so for collectors. Yes, we want faster turn around time but he wants to hold the PO period longer to take more orders. They did that and collectors did not stop buying.

Hoody's right, there are opportunities to scale up. They probably have the resources to double their production. They won't speed up the turn around time but they can probably push 2 PO/releases per week if they have more sculptors and manufacturing. The SW CW/PT and DC licenses are dead in the water.

I pretty much order whatever I want at the moment but I will have to make tough decisions if they double the figure announcements so yea, they probably knows what they are doing. What do I know lol.

I don’t think folks would really appreciate a deluge of $270/$300$400 items ala Hasbro Marvel Legends speed. I do want some of my preorders more than others time-wise, but pretty certain that my finances are A-ok with the current pace tbh IMO

I'm barely coping with Exo 6 and their releases. At first it was exciting but they're working too fast.

We were used to waiting years for a figure.

If anything, figures have been releasing much earlier than expected. Many of the recent releases, from Lando to the Shortroopers, were expected next year.

I mean in that regard it is a double edged sword. It just sucks to see a cool release and then see the date of two years out.

While somewhat true about EXO-6’s pace I like that they at least are getting things in our hands quickly, and at a lower price point. I’m sure there are factors in that as opposed to Hot Toys, but still it’s preferable in my opinion.

CW dead in the water..? We’ve just recently seen two new clones coming up for order, of one being an ARC-trooper. Which opens up new cloning opportunities.

I think CW is far away from done, HT’s going to milk clones in absurdum. The era that’s dead is, sadly, OT. Unless it’s a trooper they already have similar molds for.

From a certain point of view, CW could be seen as "dead in the water" bacause we're likely mostly (if not only) getting Clone variants in the future.

Yeah but because they don't announce a CW figure every week that means it's dead!

IMO it’s timing..since BOBF debuts next week I think HT will promote product from the show or anything tied to it first as a marketing ploy. I see more CW product being revealed next month or at least after BOBF has started , which may include the Asoka CW release.
