So Alter Ego is full-on tax and shipping now? I signed up for their newsletter ages ago but never saw any news from them that they had decided for sure that they did need to start charging tax now.

Sideshow gave them hell about the cheap prices and free shipping sometime later after the SS/Toys Wonderland kerfuffle (this is when Sideshow became a full on bounty hunter about loosing possible clientele due to their loss of business to other sellers).

I remember someone posted awhile back that the owner had indicated going forward Sideshow was forcing them to do that but they would try to honor the old system for existing preorders. Not sure how it turned out but I have an order placed that I'll likely cancel if I get hit with all the fees.

I think I'm done pre-ordering figures. End up having money tied up in pre-orders that can be delayed for years and unable to afford stuff that releases early.

Batgirl just released and is cheaper to buy now than the first batch price I paid over two years ago.

I think the overarching lesson here is to not order a HT Batgirl figure period.

He may love the prequels, but he seems to have little if any interest in producing figures from them.

Im wondering if the plethora of new shows coming up has not completely eclipsed the OT and PT. That was then and this is Now; so lets make some bank off the Now.

I dont necessarily agree with that strategy, but seems to be what theyre thinking.

I missed out on HT Sith Anakin so that ‘chosen one’ is an immediate PO, looks exactly the same figure….

I’m passing on Shand, doesn’t the head look a bit weird? Jyn will remain my only female HT.

Yeah, that’s one thing that’s gotten to be old with Hot Toys. Love their figures, but it sucks that for most of them you know you’re going to be in for a wait of a year minimum, if not longer in many cases.
