Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - WW 1984 - Wonder Woman (Golden Armor) Collectible Figure

The one and only sticky on the DC action figures page :)

OK got it thanks !! Never really stray too much out of the Star Wars, Marvel and DC 1/6 directories.

Only to daily posts if there is something new released.

Is Hot toys releasing two versions or it is it just the lighting that makes the suit look different in these photos?

For the CosBaby, I noticed Hot Toys have 2 versions of this, the metallic shiny one and the regular matte looking figure. But essentially it is the same CosBaby.

I think it's most likely just the difference between prototype iterations.

But I suppose they could always do a true chromed one in akin to the black chrome Armored Batfleck.

No idea, nothing's actually been officially announced, ie promo pics.

But at the DC All Star Event there was a version shown with the JL sculpt and a very gold plated look (tacky), now this one has a more matte gold with a much, much better sculpt.

But...you can bet that they'll release the chrome as an exclusive, much like the cosbabys have the dull gold and the gold plated.

I'm normally all in for proper chrome but I don't think this one needs to be overly done, will need to see them side by side if they do release two versions, I assumed the most recent pics were all we're getting though

Just noticed that this magazine cover is on HT's website as well:

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - WW 1984 - Wonder Woman (Golden Armor) Collectible Figure

Do they mention Shazam or Batman Forever?

So I decided to do some more digging in the text itself (the beauty of Google Translate - flawed, but you get the gist of it). They had an interview with HT Japan CEO. In it, he said they are making ?Batman Forever? figures, but priority goes to ?The Batman? and ?The Suicide Squad? movies first. He said getting licenses and likeness agreements for older movies was always more challenging. He hinted at his ?adventure in America? in getting Jack Nicholson?s likeness. HT is definitely focusing on newer DC movies. The other priority they have is the ?Arkham series? characters. There was no mention of Shazam in the interview, unfortunately.

Pop figures sometimes do chrome or glitter versions of existing figures, i think the Cosbaby chrome version is just a variant really. I think it works for those types of cutie figures.
I wouldn?t count on HT doing 2 versions of winged WW. They?re meant to be screen accurate and her costume isn?t super reflective gold, it?s shiny but muted. Guess well see.

Instant buy.

Can't wait for the regular armour reveal also!

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - WW 1984 - Wonder Woman (Golden Armor) Collectible Figure

That sculpt looks so good. It just took Hot Toys four film appearances to get Gal Gadot's likeness accurate.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - WW 1984 - Wonder Woman (Golden Armor) Collectible Figure

Didn't some of the HT Iron Man 1/6 figs have armor color that faded over time? I wonder if this material and paint is any different.

Nah, that was years and years ago with red plastic I believe. This is painted with almost like chrome paint. Can't see this fading. Hot Toys have come a long way with their paint apps.

Having them in the sun will fade anything though. So definitely have them somewhat protected from direct sunlight.

This fig will definitely require extra care, it?s chrome paint, it will fade/peel in time.

Does anybody else get a bit of an asian vibe from this sculpt?
