This is the “I just paid $10k for a head sculpt I’m so happy” expression. The mouth is smiling but the eyes are telling us the truth.

I’m curious to see the interrogation sculpt on the purple coat body. With some hair styling I wonder if it would work for a “hit me” Joker?
I completely agree with you. Pretty much how I feel. Seeing these custom headsculpts and clothing just make me want the InArt that much more.Controversial opinion: All of these custom heads are overpriced and only at best look slightly better than the InArt Joker. Every time I see them posted here I am just more and more happy I can get 2 full figures for less than only 1 head.
Who’s with me?
Ppl will probably think I’m crazy since this is an Adam Gu sculpt, but that looks pretty much like the standard sculpt on the 1/3 Blitzway that got so much flack, but with better paint than the Blitzway. Yet, I’m sure ppl love the Adam one

Not sure about back then, but I think it’s been said ppl pay anywhere up to $8k for one of his completed sculpts including the hair and paintwork. Someone more in the know can correct me if I’m wrong.I remember back in the day all I heard about was this mysterious Adam Gu that you could never get in contact with but made the best Joker heads ever. Only a few owned a head and no one would tell you exactly how much they paid. Did they cost $500? 1k? 2k? 5k!?!?

i think some statue collectors are starting to think 1/6 scale is insane for how much they're charging for 2 figures when they can buy statues with that price, but tbh idk why I just get the feeling that a lot of statue collectors have the mindset that bigger = better but at least statues are more refined. so it might seem crazy for the set alone to cost 1000~ when you can buy a whole statue with that price. but 1/6 customs are ludacris compared to even the best custom statues out there (but I think most of the heavy beating is the shipping prices). its hard for some people to stomach that a head alone would cost easily 500-1300 (normally) but tbh Im not sure what the quote would be if someone sent their 1/4 or 1/3 head portrait to get it repainted by someone like 357 or others2x full Joker figures with haired sculpts from InArt look like a great deal now, right?
I was going to try and get them to paint a pair of 3D printed Ledger Joker shoes for me, I like some of their work. Not sure if they would, but their way of booking is more complex than I feel it needs to be. Just respond to your DM and provide a PayPal email, updates, and a tracking number.to get it repainted by someone like 357 or others
Living in the U.K. statues are very pricey as the weight really adds to shipping costs so there’s still a big difference between Statues and figure prices to me.i think some statue collectors are starting to think 1/6 scale is insane for how much they're charging for 2 figures when they can buy statues with that price, but tbh idk why I just get the feeling that a lot of statue collectors have the mindset that bigger = better but at least statues are more refined. so it might seem crazy for the set alone to cost 1000~ when you can buy a whole statue with that price. but 1/6 customs are ludacris compared to even the best custom statues out there (but I think most of the heavy beating is the shipping prices). its hard for some people to stomach that a head alone would cost easily 500-1300 (normally) but tbh Im not sure what the quote would be if someone sent their 1/4 or 1/3 head portrait to get it repainted by someone like 357 or others

ngl, yours is probably from the best. at least pictures that rf_toys took of your unpainted cowl + neck combo on his modified body for the dx19? beats queen's 1/3 by a mile stone in likeness. cant say too much about jnd's since it isn't out yet but there was always something that bug me about queen's 1/3. the screen accurate cowl is incredibly nice. prime1 just has dodgy paint and the cowl is a little strange as well. there has yet to really be any statues of bale that intrigued me besides jnd's but mainly because of the duel displays for both statuesThere’s a lot of elitism and appealing to authority in the statue collector world. People think they paid the most and got the biggest version so it must be perfect.
At least for TDK pieces I find this often isn’t true. Many of them are pretty stylized and with the exception of JND I think the detail isn’t even higher.
I think my less than $500 custom DX19 looks better than any of TDK statues.
definitely not anymore after inart's release before them. either you go with the dx11, buy a cheap KO or kitbash, and then there's the custom route. the options offered is very nice, especially the price offering that inart offers. at a consumer level, inart has a lot of bang for your buck no matter how some people might beg to differ because of the price for deluxe, but I get the complaint that not everyone wants two figures so that's on inart's end but glad they changed it. for 400-500~ for a rooted haired sculpt that is very good and not barbie hair/ht level, its incredibly niceThen again the market isn't as scarce for high quality Ledger sculpts as it once was.
im unsure about osk specifically and how it works to ship things over to the UK for them, but if you're interested. it wouldn't be so bad to seek kit out since I know he's been taking queen orders and that 1/4 batman was like 1000~ shipped i think. still more than what was retailed at like 780-800 i think but might be an affordable option to seek out instead of going direct or specification or other shops.Living in the U.K. statues are very pricey as the weight really adds to shipping costs so there’s still a big difference between Statues and figure prices to me.
Sideshow type 1/4 scale 100% polystone statues cost more than three Hot toys figures. Weta prices for 1/6 statues are huge. Iron Studios 1/10 are ridiculously high prices so InArt by comparison still seems like a bargain for a high quality, fully articulated figure with rooted hair and loads of accessories.
I was eyeing up Queen Studios 1/4 Knightmare Batman the other day which still costs about 1.5x the IA rooted Joker double pack.
The fact I considered PO’ing it tells me I’m getting a little too comfortable spending big bucks on collectibles.
1/3 scale stuff is where you really start to notice a significant increase in quality but, despite the JND The Batman statue recreating the suit gloriously, InArt still look to have done the head better.
1/6 is the right scale for me now. An impressive level of detail can still be achieved, plus I love all the various materials used on figures and having the ability to pose them myself and they take up just the right amount of space.
I’m just assuming that since Kit today/yesterday said that shipping alone for a 1/6 polystone throne could cost $200USD, a 1/4 scale statue would be immense.im unsure about osk specifically and how it works to ship things over to the UK for them, but if you're interested. it wouldn't be so bad to seek kit out since I know he's been taking queen orders and that 1/4 batman was like 1000~ shipped i think. still more than what was retailed at like 780-800 i think but might be an affordable option to seek out instead of going direct or specification or other shops.
personal opinion, 1/3 scale is spotty for me in terms of paint but i might just be buying the wrong things. it seems most people don't exactly collect movie pieces at that scale or 1/4 since most favor comic book characters but i found 1/3 lacking in terms of movie pieces. one thing i hate about higher scales and rooted hair is how they ship the head. i understand the thing is hard to ship, but with 1/6 scale. having it in a small capsule box like the one shown is incredibly appealing and reassuring.
im the same way, went from statues and moved onto 1/6 because of space issues. those boxes eat up space like a mf. you can have like 10 normal hot toy boxes before it starts equating to 1 single 1/3 box
This looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than the inarts offerings. It's not even comparable.
id probably wager, he meant specifically for doom's throne being too expensive to ship. quite possibly shipping might equal to the same amount if not more of what the item's worth to ship so he might not see it being worth it to buy the inventory and not make a lot out of it. surprisingly, looking at it from what I can but ofc kit took the listing down it was 1050 flat shipped for 1/4 km batmanI’m just assuming that since Kit today/yesterday said that shipping alone for a 1/6 polystone throne could cost $200USD, a 1/4 scale statue would be immense.
Anyways, I really need to avoid going down that rabbit hole. Must stick to 1/6. Must. Stick. To. 1/6!!
Nah I'd say it's pretty comparable and wouldn't even say it's SIGNIFICANTLY better. This looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than the inarts offerings. It's not even comparable.

Root job and overall sculpt quality is pretty close to one another when compared. I quite honestly don't even see that big of a difference in paintjob quality and Inarts sculpt is one that is mass produced in some factory in China while Adam Gu's sculpt is a custom painted one.
The only thing that really separates that sculpt (and a lot of these custom sculpts) from Inart's is the teeth and the better done eyes. Although I feel the likeness on that Adam sculpt is a bit weak with the eyes there but the quality of the eye area is very nicely done.
Does Adam's sculpt really look $8000+ better? Sorry but no it doesn't to me. I agree with what ScoobyDoo said on the previous page where a lot of these customs are actually quite comparable to Inart's, with some even looking worse. Which is a testament to Inart more than anything considering the price of what we're paying compared to a single sculpt. You're comparing custom hand painted small quantity sculpts to one that a company mass produced in quantities of thousands and STILL made them comparable in quality to customs. You sort of reach the area of diminishing returns there for some. Saying they're not comparable isn't quite right.
