I'll start with the Cons. Some of these are just a preference, others I think InArt might be able to build upon.
Magnets. I DO like them. They were a selling point for me and I hope to see more of them. However, they give me a feeling of merely being sufficient to good. I was hoping for more of a healthy *snap!* when connected. Again, they do work, but I'm worried about the base considering some of the things I've seen online - and holding the metal accessories. So far so good on my end though. We'll see how they hold up.
The ties. This is a personal preference but I prefer a workable tie like in our everyday life. This one has a buckle at the back that adjusts, and as far as I can tell the knot is glued together. I just prefer a wider knot that is also adjustable.
The movable eyes. I know I might in the minority, and I do like PERS when it's good, I just feel like this likeness would have been stronger had they went with sculpted eyes. It doesn't ruin these sculpts though. More on that later.
The shoes. Again, more of a preference, but I kinda like real shoes. These DO look great, but DID has been killing it for over a decade with real workable foot wear.
The Pros.
The outfit. Its great. It lays the way I like it to and the material is the best we've gotten with these licensed releases. Particularly the coat.
The headsculpt. While I have my opinion in the moving eye, these are still killer heads. They did put a lot of product in the hair to keep it in place for the shipping and aesthetic, but that's not a con for me. Good job.
The dio. Not much to say here other than it's looks great with appropriate weathering - and it's heavy.
The magnetic forearms. I love these. They bring an extra layer of realism, and the detail on these nasty grungy a** hands is awesome.
The accessories. Again not a ton to say, other than again, they're are heavy and feel cool to handle. It's like you're holding a real tiny firearm in your hands. I just hope the magnets hold up for them.
The gloved hands. Funny enough, this was another thing I was most looking forward to. HT has been re-releasing the same old hands since their first release. These are all new sculpts that are more accurate to specific scenes and I love them.
I think I got everything. Other than the disappointment of its presentation when I first opened this package, I'd say this is a home run. It's a killer figure with some issues but overall it delivered on its promise, I think. I'm looking forward to Aragorn and whatever else InArt has in store for us.
I'm sure other things will come to mind the longer I spend with this figure but for now those are the highlights that popped out.
