Finally got my head back from Rismo, only took a year and a half...now it's up for sale here :panic:

that's crazy to wait that long and not to enjoy. I'm also waiting on a sculpt to get painted up and wait is killing me:impatient:

What newlines are considered the proper shoe to get for Indy and where can I get a pair?

They are called the 1930's civilian boots and they are nearly impossible to find. Graham at Newline said they were working on making more but that was a LONG time ago!

Well here goes my first Indiana Jones... I managed to get some parts and cast up a head that I had so I could practice painting. There are so many amazing customs on here and i know I have got buckets to learn...

Its not until I have photographed it that I can see all the imperfections in my cast and painting... But hey its all about the journey and I have learnt loads just from this one.

Any pointers are soooo welcome folks.

That's a great paint-up! Love the eyes! Nice and stern Indy.

What body is that, seems to work terrific in the neck and pec.

Maybe just a tad too much 'red' in the face and cracks, and maybe finish off the upper lip is my only novice suggestion.

Cheers man... I am using a prince of p bod at the mo bit I want to try a soldier story bod to.

Yeah the photo really highlights what I need to do. I am going to sort the lips out first and take some daylight shots and have another look ow and I think the eyebrows need to be thicker and darker to

Mark excellent job mate and loving the skin tone, you siad you didn't know about little imperfections until you took the pics here's a little tip that I do.

Once you got the figure painted to where you like it take it to a mirror and just sit it down. Once that is done move back a little this way you will be able to see anything that needs fixing.

Looks really good Mark :rock

Here's my Indy... repaint by SaintSyn, TTL Body and a Soveriegn Studios jacket. The rest is from Sideshow.

Hi folks,

I must say, I've been blown away by the quality of the work you guys have been doing here.

The one thing I do see from time to time, especially with Indy, is that people start using all the same parts. Once this happens, what is supposed to be a custom figure starts looking like it was done on a production line.

You could drive yourself nuts trying to be all out movie accurate. So long as the essence of the character is there then the rest shouldn't matter. I have used recommended parts on my Indy figures that much I'll grant, but, I haven't use all of them at once.

I'm taking the plunge once again in the coming months and have already ordered an Ezio TT. You can rest assured that the results will end up here at some point.

Galacticboy, yours looks superb and definitely captures that all important essence I was talking about.

CHEERS!

Totally agree Rogerbee... I am manly a Star Wars dollie fan and folks can get totally bogged down with screen accuracy and I a with you all the way its all about the essence of the character and for me if it looks cool and I like it then that is just fine I am a happy man.

Well heres my Indiana so far... not really don much really I am just experimenting. I like the body but the lack of movement in the elbow area is not good :( and I think the neck is a little to thick. I will try a Soldier story next I think.

I have taken Rons advice with the jacket and washed it and crumpled it for what seems like forever and it has loosened it up a little. But like Roger Bee says its all about the essence of the character and for me its a long way off yet. Maybe its just the lack of his hat I dont know.

Looks good to me,

Which body is that? The Ezio body I have ordered is pretty much a standard Narrow TT but it has a moulded neck. I did have mine on a Soldier Story body, but the neck is too thin and the head to neck join looks very awkward. I don't know if you've seen the recent Headplay heads, but, the neck issues are very similar. The Ezio body is pale but as I'm repainting it anyway I'm not bothered about that.

The Ezio body, is that the one they use for Assassins Creed figure? I looked at that and keep thinking about getting one. The body I used is the Prince of Persia body. I think its great but it may not be right for Indiana. Part of the fun of kitbashing and customizing is the reseach and experimenting. I will have another bash at painting up another Indy later I think.

It is indeed. The Dastan/Royce body is a good skin match for Indy and doesn't look to need any work. From what I've seen, I'd say the Ezio body is the same colour as the newer narrow TT with the Gambit head. Still, I am repainting the head and will want the body to match.

The other thing about TTL and Soldier Story bodies is that they are short. HT bodies seem to give him the right stature.

The Ezio body is not quite as pale as the new TT Narrow caucasian, and therefore a better match to Indy's skin tone.

Hi All

galactiboy - Love the figure mate and the jacket does look great on him.

Rogerbee - Very well commented on the essence of a character and not movie accurate and look forward to seeing your nexy Indy.

Dorgmal Snow - Mark the jacket turned out well and the head is great I love the hard stern look. The other thing I like when viewing everyone's painted heads is the variety there is not one HS painted the same which is awesome in my opion.

Thanks Hemble,

I've had to resort to essence where his gun is concerned. The SSC one has fallen to bits! It started with the hammer and the safety catch. The safety catch has a little pin on it which goes through a hole in the body and through a hole in the hammer, I just can't seem to put that back on, it's sooooo fiddly! Also, the chamber mechanism has fallen to bits too, not such a major job, but a pain all the same. I've stuck it in a bag for the time being and have repainted the Hasbro one. It looks quite good actually, just so long as you don't look to closely that is!

CHEERS!

PS (Now to find a replacement, any recommendations!?)

HI All

Rogerbee - I've never had a problem with the SS pistol that is very strange anyway send me a PM with your addy and I'll post a new one over to you.

And do you want the ROTLA or KOTCS version one.
